Hi,
Me, husband and baby live in Norway. Husband is from Manchester-area and we are thinking of going there in February to celebrate our son´s first birthday with his family and our friends.
Want to have a party and have looked at different venues, but since our son is so young and only have one friend in the UK so far, it will be mostly a few adults (8-10) so typical kiddie birthday venues are not really what we are looking for. We cannot have the party at his family´s house as there is not much space neither inside or in the garden (plus it is February :-)
Was thinking maybe a family-friendly restaurant where we could book a table and have some food, sing a birthday song and also be allowed to bring a birthday-cake (unless they can provide this). Ideally they would maybe have a separate room or a quiet part of the restaurant where we would be allowed to be a bit noisy without disturbing other guests - Any ideas of such a place?
Any other tips and ideas on how to organise this would also be highly appreciated!
Eva

DD's first birthday was similar to what you describe, and we held it at a Jamie's Italian restaurant. It was lovely. We brought our own cake and they provided plates and knives. How about trying the Jamie's Italian in Manchester?

SoftSheen,
I need to run this one by my husband. Being a stubborn, grumpy northener he is not a big fan of Jamie :-) I am though, and I think it is a lovely idea and I might even be able to get my family over from Norway if we have the party at Jamie´s (which my husband might see as further reason to have it somewhere else). I will investigate further, I might be able to persuade him. Thank you :-)
