any ideas for DS's birthday present - he'll be 8!

I just do not know what to get. Plus I have to come up with some ideas for other relatives too. DS will be 8 in a few weeks. He is quite out-going, loves music, loves the Wii, Lego & Harry Potter. He's quite sporty. He has a bike that really will do for another year so don't want to get a new one yet. I know he would love a tablet type thing but in a way I'd prefer him not to have one as he would want to be on it all the time. We're planning on buying an I-pad in a few months that he will be allowed to use sometimes so feel that he doesn't really need something of his own along those lines. So, any ideas please? I really am stuck!!!

I've got a friend whose DS has everything, literally, and I bought him a bowling voucher when he was about 8, a lane for an hour so he could take some friends. Might be an idea if you have a bowling alley that does vouchers nearby? Ditto cinema?
