I am being taken out for an Abba tribute night that my friends have organised for me for my 40th this weekend. I was thinking as a bit of fun I would give them a small party bag each, I was thinking of maybe putting in a few retro sweets, but I don't have any other ideas or is this a silly idea altogether?thanks in advance

I think that's a really fun idea.

I did this for my 40th but they were quite expensive party bags, around £15 each. It depends on your budget but if your friends have paid for the whole thing and it's costing you nothing then a generous bag with some really good contents would be nice. Maybe Body Shop do a reasonable range or Super Drug do travel size smellies etc for £1 each. Depends on how many friends there are too.

Great idea!

Retro sweets
Lip salve/gloss
Handcream
Balloon
Chocolates

Go to wilkos or home bargains......get loads of bits n pieces for under £1!

Thanks everyone for some great ideas. I am glad everyone so far thinks its a good idea. I have always given party bags when my kids have had parties, (although not so cool now they are almost 12 and 14). So I thought just for a bit of a laugh I would put together some for the adults, and yes they have paid for my ticket for the night so I don't mind putting in a few better things.
