Whilst the traditionalist in me thinks this is new-fangled nonsense and part of the whole money-spinning child industry I know from experience that I am UTTERLY incapable or getting small children to do anything other than run around getting increasingly hysterical until it all ends in tears. So, having made the case for my defence, can anyone recommend someone? It's for a 6th birthday to be held at home, mixture of girls and boys, nothing too girly or too grown up. [I'm a miserable cow and she can wait til she's at least 10 to have discos]

you are v brave having them at home

we went to a brilliant party last year with an excellent magician/entertainer (best one I've seen). However, I have a feeling he is ludicrously expensive as the party was shared between 2 families and both are rolling in it somewhat. Can find out the name if you like.

yes please - might be able to justify a bit extra as could possibly make it a joint 4th and 6th - birthdays are 9 days apart. Might make sense to take a deep breath and do it all at once.

\link{http://www.gilbertgiggles.co.uk/\this} guy had my DS talking for weeks after a friends 5th party. He did seem very funny, in the moments I saw (I didn't stay), and he ran the whole party - he didn't just do his slot. He greeted them, ran games, did an original and v funny act, and kept it all going. He didn't provide food. No idea how much he costs - but he was in S London, so I would imagine stretches to kingston.
