Our ds3 will be 1 in a few weeks time and I am really struggling with ideas for gifts as we have a lot of boys toys already, being passed down from our other sons. We bought no2 son a personalised encyclopedia and a few little toys but I'm reluctant to buy more toys just because its his 1st birthday. Any ideas will be gratefully received. Thanks

It's hard isn't it, we have two girls and a boy, but still have lots of unisex plastic which we pass on. One toy which seems to last and last is sticklebricks. Ds who is just over 2 plays with it every day, as did dd2 until she started school, and still dabbles a bit now. Might be a little bit young for it just now, but will grow into it and great value for money. Or something for the garden for the summer. At 1 they don't really know or care if they can use it now, but the older ones like them to have something. A helium balloon might facinate too.

Thanks for the idea, we've settled on an outdoors Little Tikes climbing playcentre with swing, we don't have anything like that at the minute!
