Have you seen my breasts??? I'm sure I left them somewhere.....

After I stopped feeding DD my own, real breasts came back and I was overjoyed to fit back into my pretty bras and all that. 2-3 weeks later I was appalled to wake up and find they had disappeared almost completely. Now, I have never been one of large cleavage, but was always perfectly with my lot. Now I have virtually nothing left but sticky-out nipples. I know you'll all come back and say 'duh!' of course, that's what happens!! And please do as it would make me feel better - I think. I now have a breast size no bras will fit, there is no weight or firmness to them and they're lacking any sort of (ahem) sensitvity.....which is not much fun. Having never been a woman with any body hang-ups, I am now unhappy to be naked with my husband esp since lying down means no lumps whatsoever......am miserable about it. Any offers of 'there there' and 'you're not alone' will be appreciated. Also appreciated is anyone who wants to say 'that's not normal!'

It's normal in my book. Mine are like empty little bags with permanently pert nipples. They haven't even got bigger now I'm pregnant again. Luckily my DH isn't a boob man so he's not bothered. A good bra helps - moulded so it replaces the fullness.
Wouldn't stop me BF if I had the choice over again though.

god i thought i was the only one with permanently visible nipples.... had no idea that was a side effect of breastfeeding! was going to move back into those soft shell bras to hide them except the strange saggy articles i now have either have to nestle, poached egg-like, inside a too-large cup, or hold the the whole bra one inch away from my rib cage... also have no sensation in them. v depressing. agree that prob is slightly better than sticking down tho! sorry controlfreek...

the do reinflate over time

but it does take time

like the '9m on 9m off' thing for pg weight, I think '18m feeding/18m notfeeding' is reasonable for boobs...

I feel better - a bit - but I feel terrible for you all.....I also am pleased I fed my child and wouldn't change that for the world, but as a sign of feminity it's tough when they're taken away
