How often do you see your Health Visitor?

The last time I saw mine was in a home visit when DD was 12 weeks (I think). I keep hearing people saying things like, 'The HV is hassling me to leave her to cry/ feed her solids/ get her to leave home etc etc'.

Is mine meant to be visiting and just isn't? We have a drop-in clinic once a week where I can go to see one and I can phone them and ask them to come round but I haven't really felt the need.

I was just really pleased to like her after expecting an old battleaxe and I have only seen her twice - beginning to sound needy/ stalkerish about my HV now

IME, 'call us if you need us' is the best policy!
I haven't seen mine for ages and even then, she didn't really reveal anything earth shattering. Maybe I am being mean ...

I saw mine twice. Once fpr her to introduce herself to me and once for me to tell her I'd be going back to work and didn't have time to see her anymore!

Saw mine three times in 5 years.

Twice because she came to the house.

I think maybe five or six times with ds and two or three with dd. Including checks. They tend to only visit if they think there is a problem, so if you seem to be coping fine then they will just say pop in whenever you want, these are the clinic times, and here is a telephone number. If they think there is a problem they are more likely to visit on their own schedule. So if you want to see her lots, go to the clinic, and if not don't bother.

I work with some lovely HVs, but have never felt that they were very useful to me personally. But then I am well educated, my finances are sufficient, my children fairly normal (we only had contact with children services once ds started school) I breastfed as long as I wanted to without any problems, I had a lot of support, and I went back to work as soon as I started to feel down about staying at home so I didn't tick any of the boxes for needing extra input.

Thanks for all your replies! I don't need to see her but I just liked her and apparently she doesn't do the clinic much - I was told this I haven't been going every week on the off chance!

I went to the clinic a few times early on (but didn't necessarily see my HV), but that was partly cos there was a post natal group on at the same time. After 4.5 months, I saw her at 8 month, 12 months (dev check), and the one in our new area for 2 year check. New HV did mutter about not seeing DS, but I pointed out that unless they had times that were slightly more convenient to the working parent than 2-4 on a Tuesday, she wouldn't see us.
