My 4 YO DD is bored at home with me!

I work PT so I can spend time with her and DD2 (10m). She is in nursery daycare when I am at work and does loads of activities during the day.

On my days at home she constantly wants to engage in ambitious projects that we have neither the time nor the materials for (e.g. build papier mache castle she saw in the Sunday paper). I feel pulled and frustrated in all directions as I also have to try to get some housework done and look after DD2. Today she spent ages just lying on the floor with a cob on saying she was bored.

I do try to get out of the house and meet up with people but can't do this all the time. I would love to make the most of her last summer before school by doing big days out but it doesn't seem possible with DD2 needing a couple of big daytime naps.

Has anyone else found themselves in this situation (perhaps with similar age group) and if so, what advice can you offer on managing it? I do make sure I spend one-to-one time with DD1 and probably give her more attention than DD2, it just never seems enough for her.

sorry, that should be age gap, not group!
