Pocket money! I know it's been done 1,000 times but humour me please..........

Ds1 (10) has asked for proper official pocket money and I'm not averse to the idea really, but just wondering the best way to execute it.

I believe it should be earned, but am thinking of a 'basic' of around £2, with a bit more as a bonus which is 'performance related'.

Basic is for generally doing as he's asked and keeping his things/room organised (bit of a long shot I think for the most disorganised child in the universe). Bonus would be for helping out with or without being asked around the house etc.

Does that sound reasonable? I want to set a fair limit though on how much he can 'earn'.
Just wondering what others do for similar aged dcs and how much is fair (neither stingy nor extravagent) in this day in age?

That's 6 jobs a week (50p per job, which could be washing up/dishwasher/tidying/hoovering/washing loo etc - no reason a 10 yr old couldn't manage them, if you take the £2 as a given each week)?
