hello, our dd is 10 weeks old and we have been invited out for dinner in a few weeks atg a very child unfriendly restaurant/bar. Unfortunately none of our families can/will babysit that night and most of our friends will be out with us. Is 12 weeks too young to leave with a babysitter - we plan to use the local nursery service (so qualified/CRB checked etc) and won't be out very long (3 hours?)? it would be lovely to have a night out!!

No I wouldn't say it is too young - but obviously only you will know for sure

that's nearly 3 months old isn't it?

Go for it Can you ask that the nursery service staff has had experience with young babies (as opposed to 3 yr olds!) ?

I think you would be fine, we left our DS in the Center Parcs creche when he was 12 weeks for 3 hrs whilst we went to the spa. Oh and I also got someone in from an agency for a couple of hours as I had to go to a work meeting.

Its much easier when they are younger as they haven't got separation anxiety then.
DS just about refused to go in this time at nearly two, although he is fine at the cms.

If you feel up for it then go out and have a good time.

Thanks, i'm sure we will spend most of the time calling to check up but will be nice to get out for a bit

As long as the babysitter has lots of baby experience, it's fine
