So DD (2) asked to sleep in a bed tonight

She has always had a single bed in her room as well as her cot and we are hoping to move her into a bed in teh next month or so (once the double glazers have been) and tonight she said
'(DD1) sleep in bed?'

So we went with it, DH cleared the assorted toys/clothes off it and we lay her down. I then went to put DD2 to bed while DH gave DD1 her milk and I heard him click the light off, then a little voice said

'Want sleep in cot.'

So she is back in her cot with limbs hanging out on all sides!

We figure she is getting there and can do it in ehr own time as DD2 will be moving into the cot in ehr room so I really need her not to want to climb back in!

Was very sweet though, DH says she suddenly looked really panicked as he went to shut the door!

Well, tonight she asked again, so we put her in, and she is fast asleep flat out in this huge looking bed!

She didn't get out or anything, but that maybe because we spent the whole day outside on the train or at the zoo
Best get her an appropriate duvet tomorrow...she is under an old feather one that has allthe feathers left in it shaken down to the other end!

What a lovely story. Bless her little heart. Exactly how old is she? My DD turned 2 the weekend before last and we are wondering when she will be ready for a bed.

She was 2 11 days ago! I wasn't expecting it for awhile TBH but DH still cosleeps with her in the spare room if she wakes so she doesn't disturb DD2 so she is 'used' to being in a bed.
Plus the bed has always been in her room as it was a spare room first so she is used to playing on it as well, so I'm thinking all that helped!
