Does your dd/ds go to nursery/preschool for half a day?

If yes what do you do for the rest of the day?
My 3 year old is often exhausted and just wants to watch a video in the afternoons.

DD went to kindergarten for 1/2 day - from 9 til 12. She was knackered afterwards, generally, went home for lunch and she vegged out and had a snooze when she was younger. She was more energetic as time went on, and when she was nearly at school age was energetic enough to go shopping/for walk after lunch.

We have lunch, she watches a bit of TV and plays, then we walk to school to pick up DS1 and DS2. Other days, when I work, she plays/has lunch at MIL or a friend's house, and gets out of the school run, which is much easier as she is usually tired and grumpy by then.

We come home have lunch (unless he stays for lunch at nursery)then quiet play at home before the school run, often with a short nap beforehand.

ds goes 3 mornings a week. OFten he plays at my parents house after (nothing too strenuous) or he crashes at home.

He's usually absolutely exhausted when I pick him up - he perks up for a bit in the afternoon, but is still tired.

ds goes two mornings a week. When he gets home he likes to kick back and relax on the sofa with a bottle and watch a bit of cbeebies, then he normally does some drawing or painting.

My DS (22 months) has just started doing two full days but until last week he would do three mornings. Obviously he is younger so he would come home and nap (they fed him lunch at nursery before I collected him). In the afternoon sometimes we would just play in the house, watch a bit of Cbeebies etc, and sometimes we would go for a walk. Often he wouldn't fancy a walk until it was dark, but he seemed to love going for walks in the dark to feed the ducks!

My daughter is 3.2 and has been going to pre-school every morning since September.

It's very hard to plan afternoon activities as sometimes she just wants to crash and chill at home and other times she is raring to go. I just take things as they come.

ds1, 2.8, just started kindergarten today . He has lunch there and will be picked up around 12.30-45. Plan is, once he's settled, to usually go home and do quiet stuff - reading/crafts/whatever, but sometimes go out straight afterwards for a little run round the botanic gardens or suchlike (will pick him up with buggy so he can have a sleep in there if necess). Occasionally we will go home first and then out again later (e.g. there is a storytime thing near here which doesn't start until 4.30). Won't be wanting to see friends more than once or twice a week.
