Successful pregnancy stories after miscarriage

Having just miscarried I have learnt that it happens too much, there are so many sad stories out there, does not give me comfort to know that there are even more devastating stories out there, does not make me feel any better.

I am looking for positive successful pregnancy stories after miscarriage and am looking to publish it as an ebook so women can find solace, inspiration and hope.

You can be pregnant now or have children that have their own children now, it doesn't matter when, where how old.

Your contribution will make a difference.

Please feel free to send me a private message or post here.

Thank you so much.

I'm so sorry to hear about your m/c sunshine.

There are some very inspirational stories on here, and hope after m/c is very important.

Sunshine185.

I have DD1 who is nearly 4yrs i took 2years to fall for her I at least 2 early miscarriages while ttc with her. We then started ttc no2 when dd1 was 10months again after 18mths i had another miscarriage (at 10weeks) that baby would have been due on dd1 3rd birthday.

I found out on dd1 3rd birthday that i was pregnant again and dd2 was born in september last year.

Sunshine185 - so sorry to hear about your loss.

My sister had 2 miscarriages - the first at about 10 weeks, the second at about 22 weeks with infertility issues along the way. She has since gone on to have my delightful nephew, who is now nearly 6 years old

it is a horrid and common occurence - and very sad.

I had a mid term miscarriage (20 weeks) - a little boy. I had my ds (now 8yrs) a year after. I then got pregnant again and m/c'ed at 12 weeks, got pregnant again and had a beaqutiful dd - now 5.

Is an emotional rollercoaster and was a terrible time but I am very lucky to have two such amazing children.

I had a miscarriage at 7 weeks. Had to have and D & C as it didn't happen naturally (they saw it on a scan after I had a small bleed)

We had different advice about when to try agai. Nurses said wait 3 months and Dotor said just to wait for next period.

I took the doctor's advice and got pregnant again very quickly. (The next month would you believe.)

Pregnancy went smoothly and dd2 was born about 2 months after when miscarried baby would have been due.

smartie - that's interesting that you got pregnant again immediately - i've just m/cd at 6 weeks (naturally) and haven't been sure about whether or not to try again immediately - but I find your post very helpful

I miscarred at about 7 weeks, a complete miscarriage. I became pregnant again 2 months later, but found at my 12 week scan that there was no heartbeat, so had to have a D&C.
It then took just over a year to get pregnant, but all went well and I had my lovely son who is now 3.
I became pregnant again when he was 18 months old, but the baby had a major heart problem and died at 25 weeks gestation.
I'm pregnant again, 27 weeks, and scans say that so far all is fine.
It does make it harder to get excited about pregnancy, as you have to live with your fears for the whole pregnancy, and this time around I've been denying it up to a certain point although I'm very happy about it - roll on 40 weeks with crossed fingers .
Life is random and unpredicatable.

A friend of mine had a miscarriage at about 8weeks, then got pg again about 8wks later and is due in april.

I was told to wait untill after next period soley for ease of dating IYKWIM. You are also at your most fertile after birth or miscarriage. I think it has to be your decission whether you are ready to try again.

We decided to try again quite quickly as i don't find getting pg easy and at 37yrs we didn't think that we had time waste.

I had a MC before I had my two children. I started to belled at 12 weeks, the scan showed that the baby had stopped growing at 8 weeks. I had a D and C as the MC wasn't going to end 'naturally'

This left me with Ashermans syndrome, a rare condition. I needed surgery, an IUD fitted to keep my uterus 'open' and hormone treatment to sort out my problems.

In spite of all of this it took us 3 months of trying to get PG with dd (now 11 years old!), and 6 months to get PG when we started to try for a second. Ds is now 7 and is watching scooby doo.

I still remember the pain and awful sense of failure that I had with the MC, made worse by the fact that the Asherman's left me infertile for a year. DD was born on he day that I lost the first baby. This helped to heal the pain.

Hi Martianbishop

I am going through exactly what you went through! I had a MMC found at a 9 week scan early July, and had a D&C. I had noticed that my periods were very, very short after but thought things would progressively go back to normal. When they still hadn't (and I still wasn't pregnant) after 5 months of trying, I went to see a gynaecologist who diagnosed Asherman's and mild Endo. I had my hysteroscopy and lap&dye on 10th December and my next op is due on 21st Jan to remove the UID. I am also on very strong oestrogen tablets until then, as you were.

Your post just brought tears to my eyes because I am so scared that my uterus is now too damaged to conceive again or carry a pregnancy to term. It is wonderful to hear that you went on to have children. Thank you so much for giving me hope. x

Well, I was told by my GP that I wouldn't be able to have children after I had the coil fitted. I suffered with Pelvic Inflammatory disease which left me unable to walk for a few days and had to have it removed, and was told that because I had one fitted before I had children, it was likely that there would be damage which would mean no children for me.

DH and I don't use contraception so when, after 4 months together I discovered I was pregnant, we were both in an utter state of shock. We went on to have DD in 2004, but not without our fair share of problems. I was then told that although I had amazingly been able to conceive, I would not be able to give birth naturally, so was advised to think about having a c-section. I had DD naturally, 11 days late.

I fell pregnant again 8 months after DD was born but miscarried at 7 weeks. DH didn't want the baby because of the age of DD and because of the problems we had with her health. I wasn't keen on the idea, but a termination wasn't an option. DH threatened to leave me if I didn't but as it happened, I miscarried naturally.

We decided about 2 years ago to ttc dc2, again no contraception was used and it actually took until Sept 2007. I am now 19 weeks pg with DC2 and am the healthiest I have ever been apparently . I thought the miscarriage in 2004 had played a part in the time it took to conceive DC2 and really thought that we wouldn't have anymore. I had got used to the idea that DD would be an only child, so went to uni and decided to do the things I wanted to do with my life that having DD had postponed. I'm still plodding through my degree throughout this pg.

I was reassured at the EPU when I had the m/c that it would have no effect on future children but in the almost 4 years it has taken to conceive again, I really believed it had ruined my chances. I never wanted a baby so much as I did after that, but over time, I came to accept that it might not happen. Didn't make it any easier though.

Good luck with your book. Pregnancy is such a stressful time, with or without complications and if your work helps other women who have expereinced the same feelings as I, and no doubt countless others have encountered, then that is a fantastic job well done.

LS, I will sent you every best wish in getting the ashermans sorted. Both my pregnancies were unaffected by the ashermans. i had both kids by C section but that was for things other than the ashermans, IYSWIM. On top of my problems dh had lost a testicle to testicular cancer, and we were warned that we might need IVF using his 'saved' sperm.

We managed just fine the old fashioned way

Hope all goes well for you. [hugs]

martianbishop - you really have given me so much hope (when I didn't have much, I must admit), I cannot thank you enough.

Did you see the Times article about Asherman's? Very spookily, it was published on the day of my operation!! It is here

Lazylou - all the best for your pregnancy, it is wonderful to hear that you feel the healthiest you have ever done! x

I m/c in August but was pregnant again within 2 weeks... DC4 is due in May and everything is proceeding nicely.

Even better story is my friend who has a DD of 6yo and has had several m/c since. She started a programme at a London hosp this year to have various blood tests etc and was told not to get pregnant until their research was finished. Well she did get pregnant too soon but the scans look good, she is now well beyond the point where she usually m/c and her hospital have given her a 'graduation certificate' and packed her off to the local midwives!

I think the interesting part of her story is that she received no treatment to prevent m/c or cure a previously undiagnosed condition. It's just 'fixed' itself???
