Wires by Athelete and Beautiful Day by U2 always make me think of ds1. I don't have any in particular for the other two!

DS1 - Surry with the fringe on top from Oaklahoma ( I went through a whole 50's showtunes thing during that pregnancy. NO IDEA why ! )

DS2 "The Drugs don't work" and that whole album

DD "you are my sunshine" and "This love" by Maroon 5 because she used to sing it when she was tiny.
And now the Arctic Monkies version of Girls aloud Love Machine because she sings it with their accent !

How Much Is That Doggie In The Window makes me feel sick. It was on a tape (yes tape!^) that I used to play DD to distract enough to eat (she was a sod!) when she under a year old. I was a few weeks pg at the time and suffering from all-day-nausea.. and that gloop she ate used to threaten to take my stomach out for good!

When I hear that song it brings it all back... (no pun intended! )

On a nicer note, Brown Eyed Girl remind me of DS1 (now 15) as a baby.. as I used to sing it as Brown Eyed Boy and dance round room with him

James Taylor "Something in the way she moves". Makes me cry thinking about it! And for first little one who didn't make it it's Coldplay "fix you" simply for the bit about losing something you cannot replace...

Catch the Sun - the Doves
I Predict a Riot - Kaiser Chiefs
and bizarrely, like MerryAnnSinglemas - I'm Sticking with You by the Velvets (we used to sing it to dd all the time when she was a toddler)

DS born to the sound of Billy Joel's River of Dreams, so that's 'his' song now.

Shine-Take That...Both DSs love it and i often catch them singing it

I made a mixtape when I was PG and had hopeful visions of DS arriving to Patti Smith's Till Victory - which didn;t happen, mix tape got forgotten about in the transition from labour ward to delivery room. And he'd probably have come out to Pretty LIke Drugs by Queen Adreena anyway (I insisted my mixtape be full of shrieking-woman songs along with songs I associated with friends etc). But the song I associate with his newborn days the most is Vertigo by U2 because it seemed to be forever on MTV at the time - 'Hello hello, in a place called vertigo, you give me something that I didn't know and you give me something to believe...' which sort of sums up those mad dislocated weeks of dealing with a newborn.

Oh, I also used to sing Hey Little Apple Blossom (by the White Stripes) to him and Sand (Nancy SInatra/Lee Hazlewood). Now he has total control of the CD player (aged 3) and is currently obsessed with Alright Alright Alright by Mungo Jerry. For which I blame his father.
