I have 4, and that is plenty for me. How many do you have at the moment?
I wanted 3, then decided on 2 after the first, then thought 3 again, and ended up with twins, so 4. More than enough!

I have two girls, I always thought that I would have two but since having number two I can't imagine her being my last. Where I will draw the line I don't know! I did mention 5 to dp and he just looked at me as if I was mad, think three would be enough for him.

I will have 5 soon, which will definitely be enough for me! Why do you want 5? Any particular reason?

How many do you have now PBE?

I always thought I wanted 4. I currently have one DD who is 15 months. I found pregnancy very hard. I love DD and love being a mum but the reality of it all has made me doubt what I want. Some days I still love the idea of 4, on other days I think we will stick at 2 (if we are lucky enough to have another).

We had 4 very close together and that was more than we could cope with

Now that they've grown up we've had a 5th, but that's probably it now.

have 4 and am pregnant with my (unplanned) 5th. I will have 5 aged 9 and under. I was happy with 4 and am very worried about how I will cope with 5. Having said that, I wonder whether 6 is a more round number

Gosh how do you even transport them all anywhere if you have 5 or 6?!

I was one of four and growing up in the days before 4x4's and people carriers, as the youngest I was shoved in the boot of the estate car like a dog....!!

I went to a school reunion and one of my ex-classmates had 12 (no, that's not a typo). She gave the impression that it wasn't that difficult, I suspect she was glossing over some things like laundry, cooking, cleaning etc.

Blimey bran, I have 3 atm, and the laundry near kills me! Then again, they do create an ungodly amount of mess .

My grandfathers mother was 1 of 12, but wow!

at boo64. I have to admit she did look quite saggy, and was wearing a very loose fitting outfit. But then when she was at school she was quite overweight and apple-shaped anyway, so she may have ended up with the same body shape even if she'd only had a couple of kids.

My friend had 10 and doesn't seem to have found it too arduous, she also did a phd and changed career once the youngest was at school. I think the older ones helped a lot with the younger ones.

I have 3 and think it's a good number. plenty for us anyway.

We have 2. We thought about 3, but decided to 'quit while we were winning'!

My sister had 5 children over the space of seven years. With the youngest now 12 and the oldest at university, her observation is that 5 children is manageable provided none of them has any kind of special need, whether educational, emotional, physical or otherwise, as your resources are stretched so thin it's hard to address it properly. She also said to me five years ago that she was 'all mothered out' and she absolutely meant it.

5 and although I love them alld early it's hard work ,and I do sometimes at the end of the day that maybe I have that much running round to do that they are not getting enough one on one time.
On the plus side there is always someone to play with, the are usually never alone in the school yard, you get great at multitasking and you know it's going to be great when they grow up as they will always have each other.

have two, we've considered going for four, but it's a really tricky decision, we're still undecided ds is only one so we're waiting a bit before ttc again anyway. At the moment we've got dd and ds - nice symettry and we've been really lucky with everything, which is either a reason to quit while you're ahead or keep going with winning formula!
