how much to contribute to pre-school snacktime

i pay £4.50 each for a pre-school session for my twin girls and I also have to send something today for a contribution towards their snacktime.
just wondering what everybody else pays for snacktime as i have no idea what to send! Is £2-3 enough or should I send more? Bearing in mind that one of my girls never eats the snack and one of them occasionally eats it (but i guess this doesn't matter?!)

thanks for any help!

They expect £2.00 a week towards snack per child in my nursery. (She goes 5 days a week though, for 2.5 hrs a day)

surely snack should be included in the price? What are they having? an apple costs about 30p so £2 is faaaar to much

I pay £7.50 for 5hrs for my 3yr old ds (it will be £2.50 after xmas as he then gets govenment funding) our playschool just ask us to bring in some extra fruit or somethings for snacktime then the children are allowed to prepare it and have a fruit salad and they also have milk which is comvered in the general fees.

why don't you ask the staff what the accepted going rate is?

my ds2's pre-school charged about £7 per session (covered by Nursery Education grant) and no charge for snack

i have asked them and they said to just give what i wanted to. they can't ask for a certain amount as it is a voluntary contribution! i meant to ask one of the other parents last week but i forgot. doh.
i think i will send a fiver which for the whole term should be enough i think?!

When DD1 was at the pre-school before she turned 3, we paid £7 a session and snack was included, but we paid £1 a half-term for cooking as they did cakes/sandwhiches/decorating biscuits etc

Now she gets government funding, the school nursery ask for 20p a week (she goes all 5 sessions, 2.5hrs a day) Fruit and milk is supplied by the government for them as far as I am aware, but they top up the snack with biscuit or rice cake or sandwich etc
