DS1 - anxiety about school and everything

DS1 is always worrying about things. Just about every morning he says he has a sore tummy/feels sick etc. IN the past (at his old school) he was always like this because he was nervous about the lessons but was always fine when he got to school.
However the problems have started again at his new school - only much worse. he is actually up stairs crying his eyes out , almost hysterically not wanting to go in to school, saying his tummy is sore (he's eaten breakfast and charged around the room with his brother).
Further questioning by me revealed that one his class mates saw him getting into the car in the supermarket and told all the class that DS1 has a booster seat.So now most of the class are calling him a baby. Age wise I think DS1 still needs a booster seat (he's 9), but height wise he doesn't. I have told him that his class mates are breaking the law by not having car seats. He's still upset though.
He's also quite a bright boy and comes home every day with merit stickers and head teachers awards for various things. So I'm a bit worried that the toehrs are perhaps teasing him over this as well
Since starting at this school I have had no feedback about how he's doing, despite asking the school to let me know.
Any advice on how to handle this would be appreciated,I'm worried that I'm missing something.
DS1 also told me he hates school - this from my previous school loving boy, and that he hates living here and wants to go back to Scotland

Hi Saltire haven't really got any practical advice but wanted to show some sympathy.

Can sort of empathise with your situation, dd1 is 6 and has just moved primary schools and last night was unhappy because others in her year (1) have been teasing her and calling her a baby for watching certain programmes.

At her last school she used to be the same as your ds, didn't want to go in, tummy aches- she got sent home 3 weeks in a row!- and I'm worried this might start again at this school. We've got parents evening tonight so I'm going to speak to the teacher.

Have you tried to arrange a meeting with his teacher? Or even the head?

Thanks for replying mint chips. I did ask teh school for some feedback from the teacher, as he was almost hysterical one day, not wanting to go in.
I have parents evening in a couple of weeks, so will mention it then.
The school has never yet sent him home with his pains, but I do ahve a terrible job getting him tehre
