Help please i have a dilema!!!

Ok so its not a massive problem but one i hope i can get some help with. My little boy is 6months old and has had a bedtime routine of bath, bottle ad bed since about 6weeks old and it has worked brill he sleeps right thro the night, the only problem now is he wont sleep without his routinebut we are going out tonight and dont want to have to leave after an hour for the routine but cant put him to bed later cos he gets too tired.
Any suggestions?

One night won't make too much difference. Keep him in bright rooms to keep him up.

go through the routine but put him in his carseat instead of his cot??
