RICHMOND/KINGSTON Help needed.......

Hello, I am visiting relatives in Richmond in the half term holiday, but am looking for a skatepark. I've had an online search, and there is one called Kingsfield skate park, which is on a park called /near hampton wick. Could anyone enlighten me on it, I can't find any info or pictures

i live in this area but don't know the park you are referring to i'm afraid.

try posting on the Meet Ups West London Acton To Sunbury thread - there's quite a few of us there and someone else might be familiar.

My newphew used to skate at a park in Westbourne Grove which is around Portobello Market. Not amazingly close but not an impossible trip either.

it is right near kingston bridge
opposite the old Kings head pub
if you come over kingston bridge, turn left (towards hampton court) then immediately right (right filter traffic lights), it is just there on your left.

amida's right (with the directions, but if you come over the bridge, the left is a sort of straight at the roundabout).

what do you want to know about it? I haven't been in it for ages but have seen people using it.

I've found it on a map, it's only a couple of streets away from where we are, just wondering if it's good or not!!
I suppose it's wishful thinking to ask if anyones got any pictures??!! I'll have my little two year old with me so I don't want to go anywhere too far/towny

I don;t know what counts as a good skate park - but it looks reasonable to me - a couple of half-pipe (actually more like quarter pipe) thingies and some more stuff - maybe 6 things altogther? I'm guessing a bit as I've never taken a great deal of notice - but I pass it regularly. next time I do I'll pay attention. if you have younger ones too there's a good playground in Bushey Park quite close by

and as far as I remember, there's a playground for little ones right by that skate park too (isn't there?) - certainly on that corner of the park

Thanks for that, I'm sure we'll have fun visiting. Haven't been to Richmond/Kingston for 10 years, I am so excited, up until I was 18 went 4 times a year to stay with my auntie and uncle, so i've got fond memories. Can't wait to show them around!

it's changed a lot in the last 10 years. the river front in Kingston has been developed - a wee bit disappointing - all the bars and restaurants are chains - but better than it was for sure. Hampton Court's still the same....no Starbucks there (yet...). If you have young kids my top tip is Al Forno - next door to Pizza Express and looks a bit old fashioned - but excellent food and staff who adore kids. If you have chance for a proper grown up meal out the French Table in Surbiton is great.

I dont think they'll be chance for that, just me and the kids. I know we'll be fed in style though, my uncle is an amazing cook.
