good food present to deliver to hospital (London) - thoughts needed

My mate has been in St Thomas' for 2 weeks now - baby to be delivered by CS on Monday, but she'll be in for a while with other complications. Want to send her some lovely foodie goodies - any ideas, oh lovely and tasteful mnetters?

I lived on M&S when I had my section - 5 days or overpriced sandwiches and salads and fruit.

Worth every penny of dh's money.

Recommended.

had 2 sections

please please take her M&S real food

not sweet things (well not totally) .. simple stuff that you can eat .. savoury .. sandwiches / pasta dishes and nice chilled drinks .. she will lurve you for it

and rather than a big hamper arrange for it to be brought in around every meal

Konditor and Cooke do gorrrrrrrrrgeous cakes and will deliver. Their magic cakes are great, and good for visitors too. You can get them made up with the baby's name (if it has one yet)

a Dad - have done a blue cheese and booze hamper before - well I say hamper, I put it all in a avent expressing pump box (as a JOKE) and she thought I'd gone nuts and bought her a breast pump. Didn't open it for 3 days ... by which point if was honking!

K&C also do savoury stuff btw, sandwiches, quiches and the like. So you could do a mixed sweet/savoury selection mmmmmmmmmm

We were chuffed to bits when some kind friends drove down from Islington to St George's with a shepherds pie for us, after DS (aged 10 days) had been in for a week. M&S shepherds pie would have been OK too!
