11 year old wetting himself

My 11 year old son wets himself occasionally during the day. Apparently there's nothing physically causing this although his kidneys are joined together which we discovered from a scan of his bladder and kidneys. He starts high school in Sep & I'm concerned if it happens at school and other children notice that his life will be made a misery. Any suggestions of how to help him would be much appreciated

You need to speak to his head of year and organise how you are going to manage this problem. Your son will need a toliet pass so he is able to feel the classroom when needed. Perhaps he can keep spare clothes in the office in case they are needed.

The trouble is he doesn't realise he needs to go so a pass wouldn't actually help. It seems so random when it happens that it's hard to know what would help. No alleged experts have been any use whatsoever

I'd recommend Padded underpants, They hold wee long enough to get to a toilet and change.
I know from personal experiance nobody bats an eyelid when changing for PE.

The pass will allow him to leave the classroom after and accident without drawing attention to the issue. Secondary students are surprisingly accepting.

I was concerned padded pants would be noticeable but might try some if he'd get away with changing for PE without anyone realising

Can you get him a watch with an alarm that goes off every 2 hours, and he has to go to the loo when it does, whether he thinks he needs to or not?
