Hello
I am a first time mum to a now 3 month old baby girl. I want to get her some toys to play with, but without sounding clueless am completely lost with what to buy and don't want to waste money on things that will just sit in the corner
Any suggestions?
Thank you

At 3 months DD just had a few (2 or 3) soft rattly toys and a couple of soft black and white books. She wasn't interested in much else at that age.

Best thing for that age is a baby gym mat thing with dangly bits and mirrors and different textures she can experience. A Jumperoo is great from about 5 months but she's a bit early for anything else much.

Just things she can touch and reach for and bright colours and music is fine.

This is a popular toy (not that they hold it at 3months).

My DD loves this little cow! She's had it since 3 months and it's her absolute favourite thing in the world. It's from VTECH. Her other favourite is her Sophie because she can grab the legs. Taggie squares (the teething squares?) are brill too - portable! Nuby does a lovely textured square with handles, a squeaker and tags which DD takes with her everywhere. Plays gyms of course are excellent for sensory and physical development. Rubie Rabbit is another sweet toy she loves!

We had a few 'proper' toys for ours at three months, but honestly the thing she loved most was a water bottle filled with water with some glitter inside it. She'd watch it happily for ages, laugh when we shook it, and it built up her strength as she was desperate to be able to move it around by herself (!). If you can find one of those little bottles, like they give you on aeroplanes etc, even better, as then your baby can move it themselves more easily.

So cheap and so much fun. I regret buying other toys ;)

We have too many proper toys. My nearly three month old loves her baby gym, her jumperoo, mama and papa snug seat, toy bar on her bouncy chair and anything with a mirror on it. I have also have a tummy time roller which helps her to tolerate tummy time for a time longer but she is no where near the 30 to 60 mins a day recommend.

Lamaze toys are brilliant for that age - the lion was our biggest hit but also hedgehog was popular too

My 3 month old just very recently loves one of those books that have different textures And making crinkling noises! He has just turned 3 months today so has only just began to grab and hold for a little while and the book is perfect for this! This is the one he has..www.preciouslittleone.com/product-information/29/9454/lamaze-classic-discovery-book/?gclid=CNTmhMGqnM4CFUE_GwodueIJdg

I'd suggest wrist rattles or socks with jingly bells at that age too.
