Car seat??

Hi all! I'll be posting this on a few topics as need to buy a car seat by the weekend so as many opinions as possible would be great!
Basically my DD is a big 5 month old (18lbs) and she's rapidly outgrowing the car seat she has now, her shoulders are getting squished and her movement is restricted, we're travelling a total of 4 hours on Saturday and want her to be as comfortable as possible as she used to love car journeys but recently has been getting restless. I'll be keeping her rear facing for as long as possible but ideally I'd like something that can be altered to her size as she grows and be a rear facing or forward facing seat as required! Money isn't an issue when it comes to her safety so can anyone recommend a car seat they've found the safest and most comfortable? Thankyou! Smile

We've got the cube sirona which will rear face to 4 years, and I love it. If you want one that lasts longer I've heard the joie stages is very good

I have a Nuna Rebl. Brilliant seat and rear faces to 4.

I'd be very surprised though if your daughter has outgrown the seat. My son was around the same weight at that age (I think) but I didn't move him until he was 10 months.

Have you taken out the newborn insert bit (the wedge and head hugger)?

Have you taken out the head hugger and newborn wedge? My son was huge and was in group 0 until 11 months.

My DS2 is over the 99th centile for height and weight, we moved him to a Britax Two Way Elite at 10 months. It has one of the higher weight limits so will last till 25kg. We went to the in car safety centre to get it, I don't think you can buy it from other retailers. It was £220 and will rear and forward face.

We also have the Nuna rebl. It's isize so adhers to the new legislation coming out in 2018 (rf until 15 months). We moved him at 9 months as we have a 3 door car and he was too big to carry in the infant car seat, and the Nuna swivels 360 so it's perfect.
Expensive, but worth it IMO. Definitely worth looking at if you can afford it!
I know some of my friends bought the cybex one and also the britax and they also love them.

We have the Nuna Rebl as well, really pleased with it, we just use the wedge insert in it, stops her head lolling forwards when sleeping. Our other car seat which she had as a new born was the maxi cosi cabriofix and at 22lbsish she still fits into, so we use it in my Parents car, fine for her until her head comes to the top of the seat. If you still have the inserts in then that can cause them to be a bit squished, depends on what car seat you currently have.

DS was too long for our cabriofix at about 6mo! He's also heavy so we have an ERF car seat up to 25kg. ERF is brilliant as he can see our 6yo who's FF in a HBB, they chat away together on long journeys.

Our ERF is a BeSafe Izi Plus. It is huge and although reclines, it doesn't really tilt back much. However it has loads of room and seems comfy for DS.
