Daughter still isn't walking!

My daughter is nearly 17months, she will walk along the settee, and stand unaided but walk? Not a chance, she won't even entertain the idea of trying, but would rather crawl everywhere.

My oldest was walking at 12months.

Anyone else with a late Walker?

DS2 was 21 months, just got out of the pushchair one day, walked across the playground and climbed the slide!

12 months is pretty early, 17 months is not that late.

DS was 17 months, DD 15 months.

They're both normal, fit, healthy sport addicts now. Don't worry - we're all different!

I'm not particularly worried as I expect due to having an older sibling she will have someone to run around for her lol. Interesting how early or late people's little ones start toddling around, but for now it seems crawling is the fastest way forward :)

Both mine were around 16/17 months but walked well very quickly which I think is common with later walkers.

DD was 18 months, but as others have said, was good at it quite quickly.

DS was 16 months. He seemed to miss the bambi stage and went from crawling to running Hmm no one could believe how stable he was on his feet once he got going.

Dd was dead on 18 months. To the day. She just one day stood up and walked across the room. No cruising or even trying to toddle.

A friends daughter is 20 months and she has only just started to take her first steps

DS was 10 months pretty much to the day. He was really unstable though. He's 11.5 months now and spends all day charging about. Crawling is no more. Oh and he has discovered he can climb on the sofa and throw himself head first off it. Can't believe I actually encouraged him to walk, a few extra months of crawling would have been nice ...

Dd was 10 months, trouble was at that age she didn't have the sense to look where she was going to just walked into stuff and fell over!

I have sisters who are much younger so u remember when they were babies and one of them was walking at 11 months, the other was about 19 months and she just let go of the table one day and marched around the room like she's been doing it for months (they're twins btw). I wouldn't worry too much just yet, you DC is not a very late walker, it could just be a confidence thing if they're toddling around whilst holding onto things but not yet doing it freely
