She is currently in a Moses basket but getting too big. I have a 70 x 140 cotbed for her, but is she too young to move into it now? Where did your baby go after the Moses basket? Thanks x

I had a little crib in our room from birth, used it nightly for the first six months then on and off until they outgrew it. Not sure on age 1+.

It was this one or one very like it

Into her cotbed. She looked tiny in it. Smile. But soon made the most of the space.

Might have been colour options with this one

I found it really handy to have the option to have baby in our room when they were ill, saved a lot of fuss. It's not advised to allow babies under 6 months to sleep alone in their own room, but I'm sure you know that.

Our dd went from her moses basket into her 60x120 cot in our room at about 15 weeks old - not a single problem, she loves having the space to move around!

Straight into cot from birth. Totally fine.

Oh yes, having the actual cot in parents bedroom is also good. We didn't have space for it though.

You do know you can use cotbed from birth?

Ours slept on cot bed mattress on floor or co slept from birth. If we had another child i would straight to full size single mattress from birth on floor. ( then us adults can fit in better also to settle)

Cotbed in our room, next to bed to start with and then moved away to other end of room before moving into baby's own room at 6 months.

mine slept in 'mini' cot (80cm) from day 1. Got too big for it at around 5 months and went into proper cot (120cm).
I think a cot is fine from day 1. IMO you can't be too small for a bed (provided bars stop the baby from falling out). I fantasise about a bed the size of a bedroom!

Straight into cot bed- I'm surprised you've managed to get 5 months out of a Moses basket really!

Five months in a Moses basket is very good value for money Grin my DS lasted about a month before he broke it, the lump! We pushed our bed against the wall and squeezed his cot into our room. He went into his own room when I could take no more at four months.

Never used moses basket. Cotbed from birth in our room. Never any problems. Cotbeds are suitable from birth and you don't need to spend money on moses basket.

Yep cotbed same size as yours from 3 months. DD sleeps with her arms sprawled out so she hated the Moses basket

My DS started rocking his moses basket at 10 weeks so he went straight into his cot in our room.

My DS went into his cotbed after about 4 weeks - he liked to sleep with his hands up and was wakening himself up against the Moses basket. He did look tiny in it though. He's still in the cotbed at the end of our bed now. I'll probably keep him there past the 6 months as DH is nightshift & I'm still feeding sometimes 3 or 4 times a night so it's just easier.
