DS7 wants a sleepover party

DS wants a sleepover party for his 8th birthday. He wants to invite 5 friends and have a Minecraft theme. I'm not totally against the idea as it's only 1 night but I am wondering what to do to entertain them!

He's not been invited to any parties in the last year so I have no idea what 8 year old parties consist of. I'm also not convinced they'll all come as I don't actually know most of them (don't do school drop off or pick up) but that's another story.

Anyway, any idea for games for that age group? If minecraft related and easy to arrange then even better. I was thinking parents drop them off mid afternoon and we do party stuff then pizza & popcorn with a film and then hopefully persuade them to at least get ready for bed & possibly sleep at some point (after a 'nearly midnight' feast)

In the morning I will feed them breakfast & let them watch TV until sending tired grumpy kids home to their parents.

Sounds very simple but am thinking it may be a total nightmare...... HELP!

I think your plan sounds perfect. I'm afraid I'm at a loss for games because mine are teens now and I can't remember that far back. Decorate a cardboard box to look like character, cut out holes with different point values, throw a soft ball or bean bag to score points? Decorate empty bottles for mine craft back garden bowling? Mine craft piñata?

Oh! Have you checked Pinterest? I bet they have loads of ideas...
