My DS has just turned 1 year and has been at nursery since he was 9 months old. He settled really well and seems to love it. He has never had any issues at handover and is always thrilled when we turn up to pick him up. He is also generally very laid back, a good eater and an excellent sleeper.
Over the last couple of weeks he has been very moany and whingy, wants me to pick him up all the time, then wants me to put him down, then hangs off my legs sobbing until I pick him up again. If I am in the room he has to be on me or touching me which makes getting ready for work or cooking dinner impossible! When I am out of sight he is absolutely fine but the minute I pop up he starts up again. He has also started pinching and hitting - not just me but his teenager brother and sister and his dad.
He has also just started walking in the last week and crying like the world is going to end if he can't get what he wants (eg. someone's phone or iPad, a sharp knife or a pair of scissors).
I dropped him off a nursery this morning and he was really upset for the first time - what can I do to help him and myself as its very wearing? What is going on?
