My DD's playschool made up little calendars for all the children to give their parents for Xmas.

It is a laminated sheet with her handprints in paint on, the poem with it reads:

MY LITTLE FINGERPRINTS
There used to be so many
of my fingerprints to see
on furniture and walls and
things from sticky, grubby me

But if you stop and think
awhile you'll see I'm
growing fast
those little hand prints
disappear you can't
bring back whats passed

So here's a small reminder
to keep, not wipe away
of tiny hands and how they looked
to make you smile some day

I am crying just typing this.

I don't want to disillusion you, but that little rhyme has been used on kids calendars etc for years.

So stop your blubbing

I don't doubt that this poem has been used for years, I had just never heard it before and being the emotional sop that I am I cried like a baby

dd1, dd2 & ds2 made a plate to hang on the wall with a handprint on & this poem when they were all 4 at school. Now that they're 14, 10 & 8 it makes me blub even more when i read it!

Think that the fingerprints never go away just get higher up the walls

Huh they're replaced with toothpaste dried in all over the bathroom sink. Spot cream laying with the top off.. dirty knickers & socks kicked under the bed instead of the wash basket....

So much to look forward to eh?

((I just typed this on the pregnant pink lamb thread by accident)) what a twit!
