Late walkers 20-24 months ... keeping them in all in ones?

A lot of people on here say they stick to babygros, rompers, dungarees, playsuits until their child is walking due to uncomfy waistbands and everything riding up. Anyone done this with a late walker, say 20-24 months?

DS is 18 months and not walking, he wears normal clothes, Zara leggings, jeans etc.

He only wears babygros to bed because well, they're pjamas not day clothes?

I read in various places that going barefoot as much as possible helps to promote confidence in walking (better grip and sensation of the floor).

Why wouldn't you use trousers etc - never heard that before [am a nanny/nursery nurse]

I find that when they are needing to still be picked up a lot all in ones are better so everything doesn't ride up or get bunched up.

Lougle when did you switch to seperates?
