Washing 6 month olds face

Just one of those daft questions that pops into your head.

We bath baby every night as he likes it and it's a good bedtime routine for him. So in the mornings I get a warm bowl of tap water and wash his face and neck with cotton wool, he's not dirty but it's a freshen up from the drool etc.

So when do you stop with the cottonwool? Do you wait till they can stand at the sink and wash with a flannel and gentle soap? Or am I missing something?

As soon as you're feeding him regular food you'll be washing his face 3 times a day at least. I use a flannel on my messy one year old. If there's not a clean flannel about I'll rinse out a baby wipe and use that.

I don' t think I used cotton wool on mine past the newborn stage! By six months dd2 was sat in the bath with dd1 and washed with a flannel.

I never used cottonwood for anything, thanks to MN. Wipes and a soft sponge for face washing

I've tried using the wipes on his face, we use the sensitive ones anyway, but they made his face red and blotchy.

moo you are right, I didn't think about all the face washes I'll be doing with weaning Grin
