Ok went shopping today with my kids ds 5 and dd1 1/2 son was walking round and daughter was asleep in her seat in trolley a teenafe maybe 20s mentally disabled man starts tryimg to touch my daughter i look at him and move on he follows us around the store trying to touch my kids he links arns with me staff assume he is with me i finally loose him upstairs i turn my back on trolleu for a split second and hes appeared from nowhere and is taking my daughter out her seat i freak out and take her back i tell him politly to go we finish our shopping me sumwhat aged and a member of staff i vaguley know tells me hes been in the store for hours and he will get knocked out soon there was no carer parent with him but do i go to the police

Hopefully it won't happen again but if it does I would report it to someone. Not to get them arrested but to get them help and protect them from doing something serious and getting into trouble. I hope you're OK, it must have been a scary experience for you.

I think you should report it to get support for him aswell as making sure your children are safe. If he's got mental/ learning disabilities then it's imperative he has a carer with him when out in social situations such as the supermarket. He may genuinely have not had any sinister motive to befriend you or your daughter but on the other hand he could have you'll never know. Not everyone may have reacted as calmly as you did in that situation and this young man could of ended up assaulted or similar had he done this with someone more temperamental. It's a safe guarding issue for both the young man your child and other potential children he may come across.
