12mo slips over...

...in his socks all the time when he pulls himself up on furniture. He is nowhere near walking yet and I don't want him in shoes. I would like to leave him without shoes as long as possible to let his feet develop. The weather is getting colder and so are my floors so bare feet isn't really the answer. Is there a middle ground somewhere? Those socks with grippy bits are crap. I'm sure there is a solution and I just don't know it!

Leather slippers from bobux or dotty fish or similar. They're great!

There are non slip socks. Why do you think they are crap? Maybe try a different brand? You can also get mocassin socks, they are non slip and will keep the feet warm too.

No socks works well, otherwise might be time to get a pair of shoes! Clarke have cruiser slippers that look really good, I'm going to get DD a pair for nursery when it gets colder (no shoes allowed, and cold floors)

Moccis! Get a second hand pair off eBay as they're a bit dear BUT a perfect solution to your problem, believe me.

Hi lillybug, I have these little slip on shoes waiting to go to charity. They have hardly been worn. You are welcome to them if you like, if you're interested then pm me!! Smile

Put some carpet down - works fine then Wink

Oh don't, we have had loooooong discussions arguments about if we should put carpet down over the tiles. We compromised on a large rug. There are still plenty of slippery surfaces though!

You can buy a product called 'sock stop' on EBay etc, cost about £4.

It is a coloured glue that you can draw onto socks to make them non slip. I used to draw smiley faces and all sorts.

It works really well and if it wears off you can redo it, one bottle lasts forever!
