Crystal things in nappy?

A few times I have gone to change ds nappy and there has been little crystal looking things all over him. I have looked at his nappys and can't see any tears or anything in them, and the nappies aren't too full when it happens.

Does anyone know what this is? Is it from the nappys? And if so would it be uncomfortable for ds? Or could it be something else?

I use asda LA nappies if that makes a difference.

It sounds like the 'gel' balls in nappies that absorb the moisture. I only ever had it happen when nappies were very wet. I know a friend managed to wash a pull up in the washing machine - they can certainly expand when very wet Grin

Oh so it's not worth changing brands then?

I read somewhere a while ago someone had their nappy burst and it made all their dc skin very sore Confused I was worried it might be hurting him!

Then I thought maybe my ds was wearing magic crystals Grin

You need to change his nappy sooner. Grin
They're harmless...just a sign that the nappy's far too wet to be wearing. We all know this 'look' well, don't worry.

It wasn't the crystals making him sore, it was the fact that he had been in a too-wet nappy for far too long.
