What to put pram chassis and carry cot in for a flight?

We're on a flight next week and need to take the pram with the carry cot. It says the airline will take the pram and put it in the hold luggage once we're boarding but what can I put the pram and carry cot in to make sure it's all together and minimal damage? can you get travel bags that fit all types of prams?

its a silver cross wayfarer.

Thanks Smile

I just use one of the large plastic (clear bin bag type thing but bigger) that you get at the airport. Some airlines give them to you for free, others charge 5 or 10 pounds.

Oooh, just bumping as I'm planning to do this too, at the end of the month. I'm taking the chassis and pram top though and likewise really don't want it damaged.

Can you not buy a cheap lie flat stroller type and take a sling instead? Something like the petit star can be used from birth.

I wouldn't put a nice expensive pram in the hold tbh, it's likely to get thrashed about and damaged. How old is your baby?

I have this same concern next week. I have to fly ryanair and need to take the car seat that clips onto my maclaren. What do I ask for? don't mind paying 5-10? And am I better checking the car seat or taking it to the plane door as part of buggy? Thanks.

We have checked out car seat in a number of times with no problems. We generally leave it uncovered, or in a clear plastic bag that they give you at check in. That way it is Obvious what it is and the baggage handlers should be more careful.
We generally take the bugaboo with us and pack it in its travel bag, the bag is quite expensive but cheaper than buying a mclaren and does a very good job of prorecting it. We check it in with the bags and use a sling around the airport.
