Thinking if taking our 7 month old dd on a cheep all inclusive holiday somewhere warm. She is baby led weaned and eats pretty much anything we do. Would you be worried about the food/tummy bugs??

I have spent time in Luxor. Never caught a food bug myself.
I would be more worried about the insects and bites.
Get super strength Deet for the insects, and if you eat out in the hotels around, you'd have to be pretty unlucky to fall badly ill.

I remember getting horrible food poisoning in Egypt so I wouldn't, but it does depend on how nice a hotel you will be staying in.

Twice I've been and twice I've ended up on a drip Sad

But hey! At least you can claim back on it now !!

I know 3 families that have been, and they have all been to 5* resorts, and all of them have had varying degrees of stomach bugs, one of the children ended up in hospital.

Personally I wouldn't risk it but I know loads of people love it.

Rightly or wrongly I would be more worried about terrorism and extremists at the moment. I'm not sure what advice the travel office are giving, might be worth a check if you haven't already.

Egypt will be too hot, too many insects, possible food poisoning and potentially dangerous.
Not where I would be taking a baby to be honest.
How about canaries?

I would also want to give Egypt a swerve for somewhere safer right now.

Avoid with baby. Tummy bugs are all too common unfortunately.

We went to the Canaries and it was perfect!

Never had a tummy bug myself - been to Luxor, Cairo, Aswan and Sharm over 3 trips when we were without child. I was super careful myself - mouth shut in the shower level - but wouldn't even take my 5 year old DD. No to a baby. Definitely not heading that way now - in fact the whole of North Africa and various other places are out - what with this ISIS business. Yes, insects too.

Have taken DD yearly since she was a baby , she's 5 and has never had a tummy upset. More insects in Spain or Greece as most of the hotels spray nightly. We have stayed every time at Sensatori which is immaculate and has a good pharmacy / onsite doctor. There is a sad face daily mail photo of someone there with food poisoning floating about though !
