You and Your Toddler

just wondering what people do on an average day with toddler?
my DD is nearly two and since she started nursery once a week I want to make the most of our days at home.
So if you go out where do you go, if you stay in what do you do?
DD would do soft play or park followed by painting or biscuit decorating every day if she could but would like to vary it up a bit!

Mine is 2.2.
When I'm not working we do sticking (craft feather, tissue paper) or colouring, play dough. Puzzles, cooking in her play kitchen for her teddies. Collect leaves and stick on paper.

My daughter is also 2.2, we go to playgroup or music class for 4 mornings a week then see grandparents once a week. In the afternoons we walk the dog, bake fairy cakes, aquadoodle or colouring in, puzzles, library either for an event or just to look at books, have an annual pass for legoland for when it's nice weather, go swimming, soft play, local free farm and probably the most used place is two garden centres that have fish and rabbits!

Swimming class once a week and a sort of gym class once a week too.

DD is 3yo. We do playgroup once a week, a dance class, lots of park trips, bus/ tram rides into town to go to a museum/art gallery about once a month, going to cafés for a babycinno and a chat has recently become popular. At home we've done some fun messy/ sensory play things from Pinterest (shaving foam is good and fake snow from corn flour and water), chalking in the yard, "writing" letters to family (and recently Father Christmas!) buying stamps and posting them.

Ds is 2.2 and we do things like:
-supermarket shop (ds loves morrisons and flirting with the old ladiesGrin )
-park
-cafe for a snack
-go for walk/try to encourage him to use his scooter)
-play with toys (cars, cars more cars)
-play football in garden

  • have other kids over for play/visit friends or family
  • play with play doh, do colouring, stickers

-feed the ducks
-go and look at diggers on nearby building site
-garden centre to look at Christmas displays and fish
-Pets at Home to look at animals
-soft play maybe once a month

Blush

Just playdoh, crayoning, walk to the park and TV. Sorry, but Mr Tumble does feature in how I get through the day (I do have a 7month old too though!)

I like the idea of collecting leaves and sticking them.

She does do nursery two days a week though so she's not missing out!
