Body odour and spots in 8 year old DS

Is this something I should worry about? My DS is just turned 8 and for the last couple if months has had BO. He has had some small Whigs spots on his forehead and tonight he let me at them and they all popped easily. I am just surprised as he is so young.

Is it ok do you think?

Sorry about the random words. Should be white spots

There was a post on here a few weeks ago about a 7 year old girl with early signs of puberty. Try searching for it?

I remember ds starting to get a bit sniffy around 8 or 9 and he started to use simple deodorant.

Are the spots from sun cream use in the summer? Ds washes his face using a clean flannel every night which helps.

My ds1 went through this at 8. Perfectly normal and nothing to worry about. Don't forget the facial hair, though. Don't spend everyday when they reach 10 tryiing to clean the "dirty" upper lip of the shadow it permanently wears. It's the start of a 'tash not dirt. Of course I never did that, never Blush

Thanks everyone. I did see a deodorant on the mumsnet swears by email for kids so I'll take a look at that.

I will insist a bit more on washing his face properly.

I don't want him to grow up. Waaiill

DS2 is seven and has had little spots on his face since he was a toddler. They have little hard lumps of sebum in them rather than being big squishy spots but they're still not nice for a little boy.

both of my older ones did this op, it was a bit of a shock. We revised showering/washing habits, and introduced a nice shower gel, and encouraged them to use it under their arms.
We also talked about clothes, they both would wear a T-shirt 2 days if it was clean. We revised that to clean one every day.
With both I also introduced a deodorant, which ds has worn pretty much every day, but dd just wears when she has pe.

I did find that it settled down. It was like a big rush of hormones and then settled down into more gradual change.

ds is now 11 and hasn't really gone much further in puberty than BO and the occasional spot.
dd is 9.5 and her body is obviously quietly growing. There are also very emotional days which I think are hormonal.

They are both very tall for their age.
