How old was your DC1 when you fell pregnant with DC2? My DD is just 2 and DH and I are talking about possibly trying for DC2, but I would be curious to know your age gaps and how it worked for you! TYIA!

Dd1 was 2.5yo when we conceived dd2, so there is a 3.2y age gap (I had wanted a smaller gap but dd2 took 2 years and six cycles of clomid to conceive!)

The first year was a dream: dd1 was old enough to understand what was happening and was fully potty trained. Dd2 was an easy baby and slotted right in. Dd1 started nursery 5 mornings per week when dd2 was 5mo and so I has time to spend with just dd2.

However, when dd2 started toddling (around 15mo) and fiddling about with dd1's stuff, that was tricky. Dd2's previous lack of language skills were a barrier and dd1 is still so young, going through her own developmental milestones.

We're just coming out of that tough phase and although they fight, they undeniably love eachother and are a team.

Now dd2 is 2.5yo and I'm seriously considering ttc #3 ...

We have a 26 month age gap. It's had it's moments but on the whole it's easier as their interests are quite similar due to the age gap. Toys outings tv programmes.

The age gap between our two wasn't quite two and a half years. DC1 was about 20 months' old (?) when I got pregnant with DC2. (Can you tell, maths isn't my strong suit Grin ). Looking back things went well, whether that was the ideal age gap or a pure fluke I don't know.

DS1 was twenty seven months old when I fell pregnant with DD1.

Just like Molotov my life felt perfect.

I had now conceived two babies, although I had previously been told I wouldn't ever be able to have children. (DS was conceived naturally and was a surprise, DD was a test tube baby)
DS loved his little sister and DD was the sweetest baby ever (although she was born at 28 weeks so was quite premature and was extremely tiny compared to her brother)

I think the age gap between my first and second and my second and DTs is a good age as they aren't too far apart but aren't too close in age either.

There are 18 months between our two - major accident. It was really tough because they both were bad sleepers. However now they are really easy. They keep eachother company and are pretty well best friends. They still fight, but not very much.

It would have been easier with some support. We had to do everything without any help and that was really tough.
