Why the heck will my ds not do a poo

Ds is 2 and still in nappies. Has a varied diet though has been a bit fussy over the last few days due to the heat.

His last poo was Tuesday morning whilst at his cm 's. I work in a school so he's been at home with me since I broke up Wednesday. (He normally poos every 1-2 days)

We have tried high fibre foods, Low fatty foods, plenty of cereal fruits etc etc. Done the tummy massaging, gallons of water and even dosed him up on lactolose from the pharmacist. BUT he still will not poo!!!

He's getting more grumpy but doesn't seem to be in pain and he's not bloated.

So my dearest Mnetters what in God's name do I bloody do now. Does anyone have any magic tricks to get him to go. He will be going gp Monday if he still hasn't gone btw.

Thanks

one poo obsessed mummy x x

I would see the doctor and ask for movicol. It is much better than lactulose.

Just to check, does he seem to need to go? You don't think he is purposely withholding do you?

Maybe it hurts. He will need more water in this weather.

I found a nectarine worked wonders in getting mine to poo!

Straight to the docs and get him on Movicol if he still hasn't gone by tomorrow. I speak as the owner of a 2 year old dd who started like this, then spent the next 4 months refusing to poo - it was flippin hideous. If you've tried everything else, then Movicol is the best bet, just dose him up more at the start to make him go.

Thanks for your help I went yesterday not loads but at least he went.

I will try the nectarine if it happens again but have no hope of giving him kiwi, my dm tried him last week with that and he handed it back shouted ewwww noo!!! haha.

I'm still going to see the doctor though and see if I can movicol anyway incase it happens again.
