Baby sling/carrier

Help! Need a bit of direction in helping look for the perfect sling (if it exists). I have a 12 lb 9wk old DS & I use a Moby. I'm finding that it's a pain to put on & would prefer something less hassly. I have a bad back so need something supportive which distributes DS weight well. Would love to be able to feed in it, though this is the least important 'want' on the list. I live in NI & don't think sling libraries exist so can't try various styles before buying...TYIA

There's one that's like a Moby but is mostly pre-tied, so you get the advantages without the hassle. I think it's called the Caboo..?

Caboo is stretchy like a Moby but without having to wrap acres of fabric. I moved from stretchy to carrier at 3 months, I bought a bondolino which I used all the way to 18 months even with a bad back, its a great carrier. A manduca is a good option if you like buckles. Can't comment on feeding in sling as I never tried it.

There are sling libraries in NI, have a look here: www.slinglibraryni.co.uk/

I have an Ergo but no baby yet, so haven't been able to test it properly!

I went through several slings with my DS- I couldn't get ion with the Moby as there was so much material. I then tried the Closer carrier which is a stretchy stitched version of the Moby type carrier- I really liked it, DS didn't. Then came the Mothercare 3 way carrier, which is a cheaper version of a Baby Bjorn type sling, DS liked it but was uncomfortable for me!
We finally found the perfect sling for us, which is the Ergo Original. It was pricey but is super comfy and DS loves it - hurrah! With a LO as young as yours you have to get the newborn insert too, but I haven't used that so couldn't comment.

I'd get the Beco Gemini - like the Ergo but better for smaller babies (ergo's weak point).

Manduca.

I started with the moby. Moved on to a Beco with DS. Finally found the manduca with dd. Amazing carrier, distributes weight so well, esp with cross straps at the back. Still happily carrying my 11kg 12m old dd.

I bought a Manduca last week and have used it every day for 5mo DD. It's incredibly comfortable and I wish I'd discovered it sooner!
