Where does your baby sleep?

At the moment ds is in the same room as us all the time, he sleeps in his moses basket. He'll son outgrow the moses basket though and I'm wondering what to do then. We were thinking of a travel cot downstairs so he ca nap in the same room as us then of course he'll have his cot in our bedroom. Or is it ok for him to nap in the bedroom for a couple of hours while I'm downstairs? And what about putting him to bed? Should he sleep downstairs until we go to bed then be carried up to his cot or should i put him to bed upstairs in his cot before we go to bed?

Travel cot is fine, your ds should stay asleep downstairs with you until you go to bed until he is six months old.

What sort of pram does he have? Dd has napped in her pram during the daytime since about three months old

Mine have both napped in the pram too, reclined totally flat with a fluffy blanket. Ds2 loves the extractor fan int he kitchen so I wheel the pram in there and put it on; out like a light :)

Oh q2- I did put him to bed in our room at 7 from about 4.5-5 months. Bt I went to bed at 8.30-9 ish myself for months and months so he had less than two hours alone.

Ds slept in his bouncy chair with a blanket over him and then we took him upstairs with us when we went up.
Now he is almost 9 months old he goes into his rocker downstairs with us after his story on the sofa, and falls asleep there- usually about 7.30/ 8pm. We then pop him up into his own room about 9pm.
He goes into his sleep bag post bath and had his bottle and story so it's all warm and toasty then moving him doesn't wake him at all and there are no cold sheets etc.
I think he is quite a low maintenance baby though so this may not work for all.

Pram is no good, it's one that the car seat clips into so no good for a long time. I think a travel cot would be best. He's probably a bit young for a set routine and still wakes for feeds at least three times a night but I will try and do bath, bottle, sleeping bag and into his cot.

I was wknderf same thing, how old is ur baby? My 11 week old usually naps on me even before we go to bed!! Really would like to break this habit but don't know where to put her!!

ds is 9wo, he does nap on us which is fine but I don't ant it to be a habit every night. And I do try and get stuff done in the evening if he's not napped much during the day.

I need a smallish travel cot I think as I'm running out of space!

DS went into his own cot in his bedroom from 10 weeks about 7.30 and napped either in the buggy or sometimes in his cot. I know the guidelines say 6 months but DS was a very sensitive high needs baby who would not sleep through even the lights on the TV so staying with us was not practical and TBH with a high needs baby you need some me time. He has gone to sleep in his own room every night since.

I do want to point out though we lived in a house with paper thin walls I could hear him breathe from my bedroom and his room was at the top of stairs coming down into the sitting room so very close I'm not sure I would be comfortable doing it in a bigger house.

Just do what suits you best. I would take the napping in the same room until 6 months with a pinch of salt. There is no way my 2DS would have been able to do that past 12 weeks as it would have been too noisy and stimulating (esp with a toddler as well!)

I put them in the bedside sleeper for naps and from 7pm and then go up and join fhem when I go to bed. I have monitor on.
