Please help, most nights about a hour - 2 hours after my little boy goes to sleep he wakes with what i can only describe at tummy ache he will thrash around pull his legs up cry/winge not let me touch him, wants me there etc all with his eyes closed like he wants to be asleep it looks like classic tummy ache/trapped wind. Sometimes it is trapped wind and he does a massive trump and goes sleep again but sometimes he end up screaming in pain with these most awful tummy pains i dont give him windy food because of it and he is not a great sleeper or eater anyway but its so hard to see him in his much pain in the night please does anyone have an suggestions/experience/ideas i could try?

its not everynight its about ever other or 3-4 nights we have this.
thanks!

We had this after DS had a particularly nasty stomach upset. A good startin point would probably to go to the GP and keep a food diary. Make sure the GP checks his weight and height and records it in your red book too. If you end up getting referred the first thing they will ask for is to look at the height and weight chart.

What is he eating? Dairy? Onions? Green veg (peas and brocolli are wind makers!)? Spicy food?

We found that a teaspoon of peppermint tea in water was a god send for DS who had similar plus minimal dairy and the foods above. We give him the teaspoon of tea mixed in his water beaker a bit after dinner.
