What will you do when you are at home and your kids are at school???

My DS will be at school in September (though probably not full time till Jan 07).

But I am thinking ahead.....I have worked 2 days a week since he was born, and the other days have been full-on, with him all the time, child-centred days (wonderful, have loved it all) BUT I am starting to daydream about having a bit of time to myself...

So at the moment I am daydreaming about a fitness routine for the mornings. The luxury of being able to concentrate on me for the first time in four years.

What will you do if you have time on your own at home? What DO you do if already in this situation?

My DD is already at school but DS will be starting in September. I will be bereft for a while I imagine because I do enjoy his company and we do lots of stuff together but I am looking forward to having time to go for a swim in the morning or a keep fit class without panicking about getting back for 11.30, perhaps doing a course at college or maybe just relaxing making them most of some time to myself. I do work three days a week in London too so I figure I deserve a day off!

Actually KBear, I know what you mean, I expect it will feel very very strange having him out of the house all day monday to friday...

Enjoy being able to work during the day instead of night (like I am right now Sad). Going to the gym, wandering round the shops buying treats for myself, getting household stuff done, reading (love reading but never get time). Can't wait! 2.5 yrs till all mine are in school though!

have been thinking about this - in September when DS1 goes into reception and DS2 goes to nursery i will have 2 whole hours to myself every day Shock Grin
Am a bit worried that I might have to do some housework though after carefully avoiding it for the last 4 and a half years.....

Have a term ahead with one at school, one at nursery, and one not yet arrived. Am planning a morning volunteering my admin skills, a morning making coffee and washing up for a Mums and toddler group, and maybe a morning at a local Bible study. That will leave me two mornings a week to do housework, shopping, or stuff like get my haircut.

Come September life will once more revolve around a newborn. Smile

Crickey purpleturtle - put your feet up woman! :)

DS starts school in sept and dd starts nursery (two hours) so like Tommy I'm feverishly anticipating a whole two and half hours to myself of a morning. At the moment I'm telling myself I will be busy working (freelance from home - supposed to be working now) but in all honesty I'll probably be sitting around procrastinatinating and still having to meet deadlines at 11.30 on a Friday night.

I will start work part time maybe. I know not a very good thing to imegine but i cant work now. and obviously so much time for myself. I will not have to rush a shower because of kids screaming outside and will have a poo in peace with no one knocking at the door. There are so many more things. I am also daydreaming.

My two are both at school all day at the moment. I have language lessons 3 days a week, I pçlay squash 2-3 times, housework, coffees and lunches with friends.

Moving back to UK at the end of the month and life will change. DS will go to school all day (until 15.00, now they go until 17.00) and dd will only be in nursery until 12.30.

I will work part time, so I will have no free time at all.
