I have.....that I don't need, would you like it?

(583 Posts)

The reason I joined MN was because of a thread like this. So here goes.

I have a size 4 pair of Girls DC trainers, they are brand new in the box, black and cerise pink. They would make a fantastic Birthday or Christmas present. Please don't ask for them just because you want them, I want someone who needs them for their DD to have them. smile PM Me smile

MammaTJisanOlympicSumoWrestler Wed 29-Aug-12 14:48:11

Lovely of you to do this. They wouldn't fit anyone in this house though. grin

twirlyagogo Wed 29-Aug-12 14:51:31

This is a fab idea - I was on the other thread and it was great to help people; everyone I sent things to was lovely and it made MN feel all fluffy for a while (I'm obviously deluded). I'll go have a look and be back later . . .

That's v sweet of you but the only person in this house with size 4 feet is me - my dds overtook me years ago! smile

Other people can add items too smile I think society would be much nicer if we helped each other a bit more. I can post said trainers anywhere in the UK so don't be shy.

Thanks MammaTJ smile

kim147 Wed 29-Aug-12 14:52:28

I love Freecycle - you do get some heartbreaking reasons why people need an item. It's so hard to choose someone.

Hope they find a good home smile

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger Wed 29-Aug-12 14:53:55

I've got one of those inflatable swimming floats for babies, you know the one that looks like a rubber ring but has a bit in the middle for the baby to go in (like this), brand new and still in the box - PM me if you want it.

I like freecycle and the idea of it kim but it gets hijacked by carbooters around here. I would rather someone who needs them has them smile

Someone must like black and pink trainers, or is it just me sad

Jezabelle Wed 29-Aug-12 15:12:06

Desperately seeking a dishwasher in Dorset! Sorry for the ask, but mine's given up the ghost and I've been struggling to keep up with the housework as it is!

I have a plastic, blue booster seat (high chair as oppose to car seat) if it's of interest to anyone local. feel free to PM.

Great thread idea!

Melindaaa Wed 29-Aug-12 15:14:23

I have a pine chest of drawers, 9 months old, looking for a new home. We are in Dorset.

tuckingfits Wed 29-Aug-12 15:16:11

I have a slow cooker (minus instructions) looking for a new home. I'm in North Ayrshire.

They would be slightly too big for my son, and I think he'd prefer boys ones. Thanks anyway, lovely idea.

MKP1 Wed 29-Aug-12 15:19:36

Have just offerred a load of jigsaws to the local Action for Children but if they don't want them will put them up here. Will also have a look round for what else we don't need anymore!

LackaDAISYcal Wed 29-Aug-12 15:25:25

Great idea. I was about to post similar in the for free section.

I have a black next maternity swimsuit, size 16 and some M&S maternity support tights (box is shabby, but never worn) and a cream pillow case fora V-shaped cushion that got forgotten when we passed it on. Oh and some size 7 Clarks boys black and red trainers that were hardly worn. I can post all items smile

HappyJoyful Wed 29-Aug-12 15:29:10

Wonderful idea again. I still am so grateful for the amazing packages we received from the other one. My DD is still loving the clothes and books and they always make me smile and think of the kindness of others.

Shall have a look to see if anything to contribute.

Lovemy3kids Wed 29-Aug-12 15:34:41

I have some books if anyone is interested......not childrens books (though i will see if my children have any they want to give away). PM for titles. I didn't know MN had a 'for free' section.

Can post books to anywhere in UK

FermezLaBouche Wed 29-Aug-12 15:34:49

Can i ask what happened to the previous thread like this? I was looking for it and couldnt find it anywhere.

TallDwarf Wed 29-Aug-12 15:36:08

Oh you've just reminded me of something! Thanks!

IvanaNap Wed 29-Aug-12 15:38:54

Was it this one Fermez?

I think it just got a bit too big? I have just yesterday posted some breast shells to a MNer - random, but thought the same as OP, that it's nice to pass on to someone who has a need for something smile

LoosingBattle Wed 29-Aug-12 15:46:12

I was just thinking about this yesterday, lovingly looking at DDs swim suits, UV suits etc from our holiday (lots of them, I her granny went OTT). Was going to ebay them but thought 'I wish I could give them to someone who would really appreciate them'. I don't know anyone else with a little DD (DD is 2 but some of them are 12-18 months as she is quite little) so if you are that person pm me!

No takers yet, I would say they are a big size 4 as in not a childs size 4 smile you know what I mean!

Bump for all the MNer's coming in from work smile

anairofhope Wed 29-Aug-12 17:14:33

And other stufffind school uniform for 5 or 6 year old girl. Prefer to give to someone who needs it. Will pay postage.

IvanaNap Fri 31-Aug-12 17:48:12

I have a pair of boys slippers, infant size 6-7, Lightning McQueen / Cars - bought from the Disney store around Christmas time but by the time they fit, it was summer... and time for bare feet hmm

So barely any wear on them - happy to post to someone who would like them for their DS smile

IvanaNap Fri 31-Aug-12 17:54:11
neverputasockinatoaster Fri 31-Aug-12 17:55:42

I have a whole stack of Motherease washable nappies and training pants as well as the waterproof outers.
Basically enough to take you from birth to potty training! I could also probably find the nappy bucket and the mesh bags I used to wash them in.
I had loads as I don't have a tumble dryer.
They might be a bit dusty as they have been on a shelf in DD's room since she stopped using them. She'll be 5 in September!
I'm in Lincs
PM me if you want them.

LonelyLinda Fri 31-Aug-12 18:01:05

Oh I love this thread, i've got a load of hardback autobiographies, some read once some not at all, also some John Grisham books, pm if interested, free to a good home, will post.

deemented Fri 31-Aug-12 18:03:55

I have several pairs of size 5, 5,5 and 6 little boys clarks shoes. Outgrown but lots of life left in them.

TallDwarf Fri 31-Aug-12 18:06:17

Ooh ds would love those IvanaNap!

I need to have a sort through our house, we've got loads of Shiz we don't need.

NettOlympicSuperstar Fri 31-Aug-12 18:10:17

Gah, DD's a size too small for the trainers, otherwise I'd have loved them, it was her birthday this week too.
I really need to do a house clear out, so will keep this thread in mind when I do, for anything useable that I don't want anymore.

Melindaaa Fri 31-Aug-12 18:11:41

Deemented, I'd love them if no other takers. My twins are a size 5 and a size 6.

ceeveebee Fri 31-Aug-12 18:13:56

I have a graco baby swing, and a travel play gym, free to anyone who wants to collect from Richmond

EddieIzzardIsMine Fri 31-Aug-12 18:18:40

Where abouts are you anairofhope

I've all manner of stuff I need to get out of my garage, ill list once --demon child-- ds is back at school smile

ceeveebee Fri 31-Aug-12 19:00:58

eddieizzard I would like the kitten thing actually as trying to encourage DTs to start crawling (at 10 months) although will probably regret it when they do!!

GhostShip Fri 31-Aug-12 19:02:20

I'm a size four I'd have loved them! I need new dc's ha.

I'll have a think at what Ive got

GhostShip Fri 31-Aug-12 19:07:11

I've got:

Size 14 bikini from asda. It's never been worn, has all tags and cleanliness sticker in the bottoms. Like a pink and orange colour

Size 14 knitted leggings, never been worn. Like a burgundy pink colour.

xMinerva Fri 31-Aug-12 19:08:13

I'm in Northampton.

In around 4 weeks I'm going to have some furniture to give away. All of it used but maybe someone/someone's dc is setting up home with little money. Collection will be needed.

I will have

2x 2 door wardrobes, matching tall chest of drawers and long chest of drawers. Some knocks and bumps, still useable.
1x single divan bed and mattress, hardly used.
1x 3 door blue kids wardrobe and 8 drawer matching chest.
1x dining room table and 4 chairs, will probably need sanding down.
Various kitchen items (plates/bowls/glasses/cooking utensils)

Probably some other bits which I'll add later.

I was going to ask here before I posted them on free cycle so this thread has given me the opportunity to do it.

I have 4 maternity/nursing bras, non-underwired. All good condition. I'd be very happy to see them go to a good home. I'm happy to post.

white - 36C and 38C
Black - 38C

I think threads like this are fantastic. They make me smile

IvanaNap Fri 31-Aug-12 20:35:03

TallDwarf slippers are yours, will just reply to your pm smile

MrsMeow Fri 31-Aug-12 20:46:40

I've come across some lovely people on MN just lately so will have a proper think about what I have to offer. Off the top of my head though, I have this Avent via feeding system for use with the Avent breast pump. It's brand new in the pack and has been sitting in my cupboard doing nothing.

I'm happy to send it for free if someone can use it. PM me if you can smile

Various pairs of gently used girl's shoes from a 6 to a 7.5

And a pair of M&S white fluffy slippers that although say a size 8 are a very small 8 so would suit a 7.

pm me if you want them

I have the 3rd book of the 50 shades trilogy, can't remember what it's called but would love someone to take it away! Will happily post it.

jellyandcake Fri 31-Aug-12 22:24:14

iamjustlurking - I have recently become a size 12/14 for the first time in my life and have nothing to wear!

MadamGazelleIsMyMum Fri 31-Aug-12 22:33:36

Love these threads. Have 3 girls 12-18 month baby gros - all used but plenty of wear left. PM me if anyone can use.

GhostShip Fri 31-Aug-12 22:34:58

Does anyone's DC's like Pokemon? I've got a game here for Nintendo DS. I've used it but won't use it again. Will just wipe my game data off. Got box and everything. Don't like seein it going to waste

I've got some breast feeding bras I should dig them out tomorrow as I hardly wore them. DS1 didn't like boobs and cus of his kidneys and turning yellow went on the bottle and DS2 is allergic to my boobs <takes a bow for producing two boys who wanted nothing to do with my boobs>smile

CrikeyOHare Fri 31-Aug-12 22:42:24

I have:

Navy blue puffa jacket (boys), suitable for school, age 11-12. I've washed it, but it's never actually been worn.

A used but still good Bart Simpson winter coat for boys, age 10-11. It's sort of grey cord with a fur trim around the hood. Probably not smart enough for school, but a great play coat

A bottle of Vanderbilt Eau de Toilette perfume, still in the cellophane. Catalogue accidentally sent me a spare one and I have no room. Really happy if a fellow stressed mum would like it as a treat.

About 6 Dr Who books & annuals for anyone with an obsessed DC. Can stick in a few figures too.

PM me if anyone's interested.

GhostShip Fri 31-Aug-12 22:42:24

Thanks to the OP, I now have new footwear woo hoo!

GhostShip Fri 31-Aug-12 22:45:11

Got a size 12 green hoody jumper too, brand new it was too small for me.

I have too many clothes that are new but I can't wear ha!

jellyandcake are you anywhere near Cambridgeshire? I have clothes that are now too big 12/14

OhNoMyFoot Fri 31-Aug-12 22:51:20

I'd like to remind you all that there is a free ads section in your mn local section. The same bit where you can see local things that are in.

Carry on grin

Mibby Fri 31-Aug-12 22:54:51

Great thread smile i loved the other one and had some nice things for dd, as well as passing stuff on. Much nicer than freecycle to know whos having stuff and its not ending up being sold

mumofjust1 Fri 31-Aug-12 22:56:26

Brilliant! I will have a sort out tomorrow and will report back with details smile

KateSpade Fri 31-Aug-12 22:57:05

I have a moses basket (lilac fabric) if anyone wants it,

I thought it was great but didn't really think about what I had that someone else could use. My trainers will be winging their way off next week smile

BumsyClugger Fri 31-Aug-12 23:01:03

GhostShip has anyone taken the hoody?? I can't pm as on phone, and I need a hoody as DP dyed mine a horrible grey colour smile

GhostShip Fri 31-Aug-12 23:01:06

Hoody now has a home smile

I like this, great thread OP!!

BumsyClugger Fri 31-Aug-12 23:03:04

GhostShip Fri 31-Aug-12 23:04:46

Pokemon game gone too!

ShotgunNotDoingThePans Fri 31-Aug-12 23:05:20

I have a Persona ovulation/contraception kit. It's 12 years old but I think it'd still work < technical >.

MrsJohnMurphy Fri 31-Aug-12 23:06:59

I would take the trainers LackaDaisycal (probably too late).

I have some size 6 Dr Martens red steel toe cap boots that someone is welcome to, they are really nice and look brand new despite being bought from ebay, I could not get away with them, think they were slightly too big.

Also have a load of baby boy clothes age mostly 0-6 months sitting in the bottom of my wardrobe if anyone is in need, not entirely sure what there is mind.

Would be happy to pay postage.

MrsJohn- Could I buy the Dr Martens off you??

I have a couple of size 26 tops (Would love to say they're now to big...but I'm just having a clear out grin) worn but good condition if anyone wants them?!

CrikeyOHare Fri 31-Aug-12 23:10:18

Does anyone want some L'Oreal Revitalift 10 Repair BB cream in light tint?

I bought it when it was on offer in Superdrug a few weeks ago and it's much too dark for me, even though it's the lightest (my natural complexion is death warmed up sad)

It's still in the box and I've only had the tiniest squirt out of it.

mumofjust1 Fri 31-Aug-12 23:12:30

From a quick root around I have:

A brand new pair of exfoliating gloves

A new bottle of TRESemme salon sleek smooth memory frizz controlling straightening spray with Argan oil

Youremindmeofthebabe Sat 01-Sep-12 07:17:57

I have lots of full size sanctuary products. Also a rather dusty pack of mini mens fragrances- ted baker and the like. Suit a teenage boy, I reckon.

DialsMavis Sat 01-Sep-12 08:27:35

I have a comfy but old 3seater black settee for collection in West London (w13). It is used but clean, my new lounge is just too crowded for it. Pm me if you would like it. Iwish I had seen this thread before, just given the DCs coats from the last 2 winters to the charity shop, but would have preferred to give them to a "real" person. We have been desperately broke for the last few months and it's so bloody depressing and would love to help anyone else in the same boat. Will see if anything else turns up while I am unpacking house, I think I will have some duvets and bedding smile

SilkInsideAChestnutShell Sat 01-Sep-12 08:31:01

Sanctuary small size 'bath float' bubble bath, never opened. Good Xmas pressie. I just don't like smell.

TallDwarf Sat 01-Sep-12 09:16:19

I have a blue and green boys coat aged 2years, it's a bit on the small size of 2 years though. Very warm, perfect for winter.

Clarks first shoes in size 4 H. Brown with Velcro straps, small scuff on the front but otherwise perfect.

Bed Head Tigi blow dry lotion for thick massive hair, used once. I already have thick massive hair but it did a great job of making it even thicker!

TallDwarf Sat 01-Sep-12 09:18:52

Also have a fancy dress condom wrapper suit if anyone's DH fancies it? wink

peggyblackett Sat 01-Sep-12 09:19:21

peggyblackett Sat 01-Sep-12 09:21:50

SilkInsideAChestnutShell Sat 01-Sep-12 09:56:15

Bb cream has gone to a good home grin.

I think a "Mumsnet freecycle" is a great idea. How about it Mumsnet towers? A proper section, so each item offered can be on a different thread.

IvanaNap Sat 01-Sep-12 10:07:16

It already exists but is much underused teeny

I think that's why these threads, where it's all in one spot and benefits from frequent bumping, are more popular.

Jeremy where are you? I love Soap & Glory but am very skint at the moment! Would also love the Avon stuff.

I have a Kodak photo printer if anyone wants it? New camera isn't compatible with it. It has all the cables and software and some photo paper. I'm in North Nottinghamshire.

Also have an Ikea floor lamp. Was only about £10 new but only used for about 6 months.

MrsMeow Sat 01-Sep-12 10:09:54

AVent stuff gone smile

Vanity case and hair mask has gone. The bubble bath is still going though? PM me your address if you want them.

I also have a once sprayed bottle of Avon's Far Away if anyone would like it.

SunshadesOfGrey Sat 01-Sep-12 10:19:41

This thread has inspired me to put a thread with all my baby/toddler paraphernalia (cots, buggies, highchair etc) in the for free section. Please take a look.

I've got a bottle of The Body shops passionfruit shower/bath gel unopened

And a mango one also unopened

Jot sure how to post though!!

EnglishGirl-I've got an unopened soap and glory travel size body scrub (flake away?) If you want it?

And this will sound utterly bonkers I know, but, I've got a tube of Corsodyl daily toothpaste, been used twice before I vowed never to let something so rank near my mouth again

It's not the cheapest of pastes and seems a waste and will literally go in the bin if no one wants it

But random toothpaste is bonkers I know grin

UserNameNotAvailable Sat 01-Sep-12 10:29:12

I've got a rain cover for silvercross 3d when it is used with the car seat (still in packet) and also a silvercross 3d apron in black (the cover that goes on when in pram mode)

EnglishGirl I'm in Nw London but can post smile

carovioletfizz Sat 01-Sep-12 11:31:48

I have my own little business making gifts, one thing I find saves us a lot of money is printing our own birthday cards - all you need is to buy some plain white card and obviously the ink, but it works out at much cheaper. If anyone would like me to email them a standard printable birthday card please email me at carolinerchcampbell at gmail dot com and I will forward it on so you can print your own, sorry it's not much but it might help save someone some money.x

Trills Sat 01-Sep-12 13:20:24

I have a completely new wrapped copy of the DVD of the extended version of Lord of the Rings - Return of the King.

I thought I had lost one of the disks of my original copy, so I bought a new one. Shortly after that, my friend unpacked her DVD player (it had been in a box for a while as she was moving house) and found the disk.

So now I have two. One completely new. Happy to post it to someone who'd like it.

HarlettOScara Sat 01-Sep-12 13:38:04

I have a pair of unworn black trousers in size 20 that might be useful to someone for work.

Also, 2 night time feeding bras in size 20 (one white, one black).

And a pile of newborn/up to 1 month sized baby vests - mostly white and a couple pink. Hardly worn as DD is a heifer

Can post anywhere in UK (and happy to pay the postage).

Probably have some other stuff that could do with a new home so will post again later.

ENormaSnob Sat 01-Sep-12 13:43:30

Thanks 2old smile

I will be having a sorty out off dds clothes later so anyone want some age 6/7 girls stuff? Mainly summery clothes. Will post exact details later.

Pick up from Bolton or happy to post.

HarlettOScara Sat 01-Sep-12 13:55:41

Quick root around has unearthed the following:

2 pairs black trousers (suitable for work) in size 22 - one brand new with tags, one pair worn but just a few times.

1 pair Next maternity under the bump jeans size 22 - worn but still life left in them.

1 pair flanellete black & white cow print with pink trim PJs from La Senza. Size Medium. Brand new with tags still on. Good gift maybe?

1 pale pink underwired bra - 42DD. Worn a couple of times, in excellent nick.

Have pm'd you HarlettOScara x

Doowrah Sat 01-Sep-12 16:12:54

I have an M&S 9-10 yrs boys winter coat with plenty of wear left in it. I am in Somerset.

I desperately need a freezer of some description!!! I had to sell a lovely upright fridge-freezer when I moved and now only have an under the counter fridge with no freezer compartment. My DS would kill for lollies and ice-cream and I just want to be able to to buy more frozen bargains so we can eat more cheaply!!!

Zelazo Sat 01-Sep-12 16:20:22

I have loads of baby/toddler clothes (about 6 bin liners!). All boys stuff (some good quality some cheaper) from newborn right through to 3 years.

I hung onto them in the hope that I'd have another DS...but it wasn't to be sad

Anyway, it's time to make some space in the attic and I'd love them to go to someone who really needs them...

I'm in Leeds BTW smile

How To Handle Bullies, Teasers & Other Meanies - A Book that Takes the Nuisance Out of Name Calling & Other Nonsense by Kate Cohen Posey.

Stick Up For Yourself - Every Kid's Guide To Personal Power And Positive Self-Esteem by Gershen Kaufman PhD

And for you if you might need it:

I have the following:

- Beige King size duvet set. Un-opened, still in original packaging. Only includes duvet cover and 2 pillow cases. It's Beige with a dark brown pattern on it.

- Laptop bag. Light beige laptop bag, big enough to fit paperwork etc. in as well. It has a pink trim on it. It's quite padded and chunky. May not have the long strap that came with it (I cant remember).

- Fake Paul's Boutique bag with matching purse. Bought as a gift but not really my thing. It's black, shoulder bag with very bright flower pattern on it. Probably a good present for a teenager.

- Fake Prada hangbag and purse. Bought for me with the above, but just not my thing. It's a shoulder bag, black, with Prada on the side. Very nice but again not my style.

- Size 7 black boots. Probably not leather, I cant remember how much they were or where I got them. Pointed toe, ankle boots, 3inch heel.

- Wedding dress! It's an Eternity D3039 in Silver. It's got a couple of bits that need re-stitching and a few marks. I cant afford to get it repaired or cleaned but happy to give it away to someone that will use it. I think it will cost about £50 to get it repaired and what ever a local dry cleaners would charge to clean it.

I'm sure there's a few other bits but I cant remember them. Will come back if I do. Obviously most of the above I'm happy to pay postage, the dress would be better if collected!

armani, I'd be interested in the 50 shades books if no-one else wants them smile

I'm in the middle of clearing out all the baby stuff so will be back to post. Am fairly sure I have something some-one else will get some use out of

loveulotslikejellytots Sun 02-Sep-12 21:02:05

Armani - Sorry, I've promised the bags to someone else on a PM. Sorry. If they dont want them for whatever reason I'll let you know.

The duvet set has also gone now as well.

I love all these 50 shades books on here! My MIL has borrowed my copy <boak> FIL has looked very chirpy the last few weeks! I've told her to keep it!

Hi all,

Ok, so shamelessly Im going to ask if anybody has some nice girls clothes in age 6-8ish that need rehoming?

I also have 50 shades of grey (just the first one) to give away.
And a red 'Keep calm' jelly cover for a Samsung Galaxy S.
And a radley large purse in black and purple. This has a big biro stain on the front though, but really good quality so loathe to bin it! Can email a pic if needed.
And some young boys size 10 Peppa Pig canvas trainer things, brand new.

Thats all for now grin

FormerlyTitledUntidy Sun 02-Sep-12 21:16:50

Sorry, the hoody is gone smile

Oooh so exciting, I have myself some new trainers grin

This is ace, going to have a huge clear out and put it all on here!

MNHQ, do we need to move this thread? Being in chat it's going to disappear quickly.

Have reported this post to bring it to their attention.

I'm snorting with laughter at "FIL has looked very chirpy the last few weeks! " grin grin

EmptyCrispPackets Sun 02-Sep-12 21:31:22

I'd love the lavender neck thingy if it's still available please smile

I've also (nearly) acquired a breast feeding pillow. Looking forward to that.

I have a pair of boys puma trainers size 2, my boy used them for x country last term so used condition but I've popped them in the machine tonight and they've come or ok. Happy to email pics, and send of course.

RowanMumsnet (MNHQ) Sun 02-Sep-12 21:34:43

Hello there

Thanks for the suggestion to move this one.

Threads in Chat last for 90 days and given that there have been more than 250 posts in five days, we suspect this one will max out before it disappears - and Chat is probably the best place for it for now.

If it's getting towards the middle of November and this one is still going, please report again and we'll try to think of a good home for it.

mumofjust1 Sun 02-Sep-12 21:49:15

I also have a brand new pair of hold-your-tummy-in knickers by Triumph, in white size 22. Obviously never worn but no tag.

GhostShip Sun 02-Sep-12 22:43:26

Tis a shame that someone wanted it moving. I'm guessing they reported it? Gets much more attention here than the other section that I never even venture in...

Thanks for letting it stay!

CrikeyOHare Sun 02-Sep-12 23:13:48

D0G PMed you, but not heard back, so not sure if you got it. Do you want that book? If so, let me know and I can post it to you in the morning. Ta.

IvanaNap Sun 02-Sep-12 23:17:01

We have a double push chair which, after consideration, we'd like to offer if someone has a need for it?

It is well used, an older model from mothercare but was ideal for us as it is the one-in-front-of-the-other kind. Quite weighty but very sturdy and the infant part at the back lies flat. Has a foot cover for the toddler seat at the front and huge rain cover (though with one small tear in - thanks DS). It is big and hefty - not your nippy p&t type! - and though dated has plenty wear left in it.

From Cheshire, pm me if interested.

YeahBuddy Sun 02-Sep-12 23:35:27

I have a big box of breast pads free to a good home, I think there were 80 in there and I've only used about 4. Also have a tonne of bottles, some brand new, I can provide a list smile All free to a good home.

Any takers for the boys puma size 2 trainers?

Pannacotta Mon 03-Sep-12 21:28:05

Can I just ask, how do you avoid paying fees on a paypal payment sent to you, is it to ask for a gift/personal payment? I dont remember.

No one want my party dress? I have a padded envelope ready to post it in and ev'ryfing!! smile

mumnosGOLDisbest Mon 03-Sep-12 23:29:54

Size 14 jeans:
1 black, size 14, regular-short leg length, bootcut. only worn once or twice as I was unknowingly pg when i bought them.

1 blue, size 14, reg leg, straight cut, blue/black diamante/beads on back pockets, barely worn.

1 blue denim 3/4 length jeans, size 14.

All to good to bin. Free to collect or probably a couple of pounds to post.
Any takers?

Alambil Mon 03-Sep-12 23:38:02

Pannacotta- yes ask for it to be a gift

bogeyface Tue 04-Sep-12 00:03:17

*Can I just ask, how do you avoid paying fees on a paypal payment sent to you, is it to ask for a gift/personal payment? I dont remember.

NEVER do gifted paypal when buying something or paying postage.

Yes you can avoid fees but it means that if the person sending you an item doesnt send it then you cant claim the money back. I used to moderate a board very much like MN and we got loads of emails asking us to help when someone sent a gifted PP payment and then didnt get their item and we would have to say that we couldnt do anything. We had it in big letters at the top of the For Sale board that we recommended our members sent it by fee paying paypal so they could claim back if there was a problem, but still people insisted on trying to avoid fees and then blame us if they got ripped off!

luckywinner Tue 04-Sep-12 00:23:52

I have a Quinny Zapp that needs a new home. It is 6 years old and doesn't have a rain cover but was second buggy so not really used that much.

I also have a baby chair, one of those ones that rock. It is red/beige.

I also have a load of babygros but I need to check sizes first.

I would also love these all to go to a good home, rather than being taken advantage of on freecycle. I am in London, NW10 smile

Big boobs my dd3 would love the party dress thanks smile if it's still available.
Can't pm as on my phone...

I have a pink bumbo which would need collecting. I'm in DH2 area.

mumnosGOLDisbest Tue 04-Sep-12 01:26:42

This is great, just like Christmas grin I was feeling down at getting rid of more pre pg clothes than i'm keeping but this has cheered me up.
In addition to the girls bike, size 14 jeans and 3/4s, I also have a few pairs of trousers still in good condition, suitable for work. Smart but nothing special:
3 black, size 14.
1 grey with sort of light grey and black tartan pattern. Also 14.

citybranch Tue 04-Sep-12 01:47:55

I have an Ikea Tromso bunk bed frame, the kind that has a double bed at the bottom and a single bed at the top. Ladder is included but I'll have to check for all the ladder fittings, as we didn't use the ladder, DCs just climbed up. Its a current product I believe so there should be no trouble getting any missing fittings from Ikea. Pick up from Loughton, Essex.

Borntobeamum Tue 04-Sep-12 02:29:09

Mumofjust1 - Id love the hold in knickers if still available?
I Dont seen to be able to pm you!

Sorry umm already gone to someone on a pm.

OhNoMyFoot Tue 04-Sep-12 07:49:11

If you gift you pay the fees rather than the receiver, so basically you would need to add on extra to cover the fees if sending a payment that covered the fees but not gifted iyswim

Idlegirl83 Tue 04-Sep-12 10:14:00

Ghostship Can't PM you but any chance you still have the size 14 knitted leggings?

mumofjust1 Tue 04-Sep-12 10:14:08

plastic chair booster seat for using at the table, very useful, varied height

Must be collected from swindon

mumofjust1 Wed 05-Sep-12 16:32:11

Crikey - received my bits today, thank you x

Bit random but anyway, I have still sealed in packing a crown metal cookie cutter and three different crown stencils, and the jubilee edition of cake decorating magazine, no use for decorating but still has some nice bake recipes in. Yeh I have looked but mine don't seem very active sadly.

Mibby Sun 09-Sep-12 10:02:00

Just found two pair of baby tote type socks, with the rubber grips underneath. Both pink/ black with bows. 6-12 month size at a guess

I've also got an Emma Jane maternity bra that disagrees with me. Only worn a few times, size 36DD. If anyone wants it let me know.

Emmiedarling Sun 09-Sep-12 12:08:33

Lizmarshmallow - Me please! If no one has got in there quicker!

amieis Sun 09-Sep-12 16:05:15

mibby has anyone asked for the socks yet?

stella47 Sun 09-Sep-12 16:24:07

I've got a Stick n Stay Mobility Bath Safety Handle

My friend used the exact same model for getting out of the bath when very pregnant and found it great. However, I think you need very straight walls for it to stick properly - my house is old and crooked and it didn't stick properly mine.

I don't know how pm's work, so if anyone would like it please let me know on this thread and I'll happily send it.

EmptyCrispPackets Sun 09-Sep-12 22:26:24

I have 3 short & bloody history books, ideal for child age 7-10

Greensleeves Sun 09-Sep-12 22:28:51

stella47 Mon 10-Sep-12 18:54:59

If this thread isn't just for baby/maternity things, I've got a lovely pair of new Women's Kickers Kick Hi boots in pink size 41 if anyone would like them. I've finally accepted that I'm never going to wear them as I they are too big for me, so I'd be happy for them to go to a new home. They are this style, but I can't see the colour on the website - they're not the Nubuck Pink; they're brighter and darker than that.

headfairy Mon 10-Sep-12 18:58:12

I've got some left over Medela breastmilk storage bags if anyone wants them... there are I think 8 in the box (I'm not at home at the moment)

I was going to chuck them out and then something stopped me... maybe it was the vibes from this lovely thread smile

alice in wonderland dress, for a child abt 18m

stella47 Mon 10-Sep-12 19:15:36

Yay, my kickers have found a new home, and will now stop looking at me accusingly!

ratbagcatbag Mon 10-Sep-12 19:52:05

Hello all

First mini sort out as follows, I would like these to go to people that won't car boot them etc but will find use for them. smile

Boys Adidas trainers, size 4 black with white stripes - worn but still got wear in them.

Boys brand new Haywire jeans, dark blue with haywire in big letters across the bum. Size 27w approx age 12. DSS had these for Xmas, and grew out of then before wearing. Would make an excellent Xmas or birthday present.

George at Asda autumn coat age 9-10. Camo green with detachable hood, nice and thick but not waterproof. Worn twice tops.

Schwarzkopf xxxl live ultra violet hair colour. Everything there apart from the box as it was used one midnight to rescue a live mouse that then pooped in it smile instructions and colour all there though. Ivecswitched colours so it's in need of a new home.

Maybe a bit late, but two pairs of really good quality age 11 school trousers, loads of wear left but one pair will need a few stitches in the crotch area due to goalkeeping heroics.

Anyone interested let me know smile

EmptyCrispPackets Mon 10-Sep-12 20:13:15

Head fairy - yes please smile

headfairy Mon 10-Sep-12 21:11:54

I have a pair of brown boys boots in size 11. Have never been worn as DS grew too fast. I believe they were bought from tesco. Happy to pay postage to anywhere in UK if someone needs them.

Valpollicella Mon 10-Sep-12 21:29:38

Lego Book gone smile

Will have a hunt for more stuff

bogeyface Mon 10-Sep-12 21:32:10

Stacks and stacks of washable nappies.

All sizes and lots of wraps, some quite worn but would do for spares, others practically brand new.

Ideally would like someone to come and have a sort through and take what they want rather than list and post as postage would be £££, so would host a coffee morning (perhaps for Womens Aid?) if there were enough interested MNers. Would give the nappies for a donation to WA.

Am in Derby/Staffs/ Leics borders (seriously, bang on all three!) smile so pm me if you are interested and I will arrange something.

chipmonkey Mon 10-Sep-12 21:32:35

I have 50 Lansinoh breastmilk storage bags. Any takers?

bogeyface Mon 10-Sep-12 21:33:24

In fact.....if there are enough interested people I can use a village hall, so we could do a swap shop/buy for charity thing.

The village is Newton Solney if that helps decide whether you could make it!

PatFenis Mon 10-Sep-12 21:36:06

I have a pair of little boys formal shoes from Rossha- size 6 - would be perfect for a wedding/ christening if anyone would like them ...send a PM smile

Worn once for a christening and still in their original bag.

FadingAwayToAHippo Tue 11-Sep-12 22:30:13

I have a Dukan Diet Book and Dukan recipe book? I also have an unopened bag of bran, may actually be cheaper to buy the bran though rather than pay postage.

I have hand-knitted scarves and girls' headbands in various colours and designs (all acrylic). I was going to sell on Etsy but realised drumming up interest was too much effort. Can post, and will email photos first if anyone wants.

Lovemy3kids Wed 12-Sep-12 09:11:23

Ooooo FadingAway could I have them please....but will forgoe the bran if thts ok. I will pm you smile

I have a Helen Forrester omnibus if anyone is interested and knows who she is. Its her four auto-bigraphies about her childhood in depression hit Liverpool. A very good read for non-fiction fans.

Lots of boxed games, jigsaws, cuddly toys, all excellent condition, great for Xmas, but would need to be collected as postage would be steep.

twirlyagogo Tue 18-Sep-12 15:51:49

That was meant to be a confused icon - no idea how we ended up with so many of pretty much the same book!

I would love any brownie items for dd if anyone has any they are looking to pass on? She is 7 and constantly nagging for me to kit her out, happy to pay postage.

I still have the nappies, bike and trike available.

I bought myself identical boots at the same time and wear mine almost every day, they are 2 years old now and fab. I'd have to ask for postage though as they are pretty heavy, sorry. blush

Thelobsterswife Thu 20-Sep-12 10:30:25

I have a wedding dress to go to a good home. It needs some tlc. Its grubby and lots of the beading needs repairing but I think it is salvageable. It has never been worn. I bought it in TK Maxx in the clearance. It never fit me but I liked the shape and was going to get something similar made for my wedding. I would love it to go to a good home to somebody who can do something with it. It is labelled as size 38 which I think is a 10/12. The designer is Imogene of Holland. It says specialist dry clean only but also has a 30 wash symbol on it. It is polyester and nylon so don't see why you couldn't wash it. I have uploaded a picture of it to my gallery. The fit looks a bit odd because it was hugely gaping at the back where it wouldn't zip up.

lucysmam Thu 20-Sep-12 12:45:47

Little girl's fleecy sleepsuit anyone? Size 12-18mths. White with little fairies on it. Had plenty of wear last winter with dd2 but should see another little one through this winter

Hi all,

We are going to move this to Other subjects so that it doesn't disappear.

If you can think of another topic you think it would sit nicely in, then please do say and we can move it again.

Unfortunately our For Free topic only lasts a month.

Melty Mon 24-Sep-12 14:32:46

Those who have been the grateful recipients on this thread, who are maybe looking for a way to repay the favour / pay it forward - or who are just filled with good cheer - this StorySenders thread might interest you. Just thought I would mention it, in case it is something people might consider contributing to, while the goodwill is flowing grin

Thank you again Melty for the bras smile

Mibby Fri 28-Sep-12 15:53:08

Just found two pairs of girls mittens, about six month size. Think they both came off snow suits. Let me know if theyre any use

andagain Sat 29-Sep-12 13:13:31

I have a girls winter coat from Gap, one of those feather down filled ones. It is pink I'm afraid but not too bright. It is one of these

It is size 5 but I think GAP sizes are a bit smaller when it comes to coats so I reckon it would be perfect for a 4 year old. It is in great condition, has a hood, but I have to search for the fake fur thing round the hood. It is a really warm coat and is machine washable.

Let me know if anyone is interested

If you are in SW London you could pick it up or I am happy to post anywhere in the UK.

I have a girls summer dress from Next, it's fully lined, white with floral print, very pretty, it says Age 11 146cm, the actual measurements are chest 30" and waist 28". I will put photos on my profile later tonight.

I am happy to pop it in the post to anywhere in the UK.

also if anyone has any spare food items ive suddenly had to take in my brothers children and really struggling to feed us all i no its really cheeky but im at a loss if anyone can help please pm me xx

Smeghead Sat 06-Oct-12 16:53:19

Is it permanent always? If so then you should be able to claim their child benefit and an increase to any tax credits you get.

If it is temporary then you need to ask your brother to contribute to their care, he can just expect you to support them.

In the meantime, your local Childrens Centre might be able to point you in the direction of help.

Smeghead Sat 06-Oct-12 16:53:40

he can't just expect you to support them

alwaysbored Sun 07-Oct-12 00:32:27

hi not sure how long its going to be for he kind of just dumped them on me
im going to contact social services first thing monday morning .he basically said here we cant take care of them then just walked away couldnt go after him as had the children there plus my son in the house :/
didnt think of the sure start centre will ring them aswell thanks for the advice x

Smeghead Sun 07-Oct-12 03:01:11

You need legal advice.

If you are going to be taking care of them then you need to be named as their guardian. That gives you rights, not just responsibilities.

Speak to SS and if you can afford it, or on a low enough income to qualify for legal aid, a solicitor too. If you dont then you could end up paying to keep children that he is claiming child benefit and tax credits for and thats not on.

Always, whereabouts in the world are you?

Am still on the hunt for an age 3-4 coat (Is for a girl but either will do!) Am happy to buy it from somene....can't seem to find a coat in her size anywhere!!
