Ciao, also bookmarking.See you later
Franca, sorry to hear about your car. Unlucky week, it seems. I had my purse stolen on Wed (on the one day I was carrying about double the amount of cash I have normally
), scalded my hand on Sunday and yesterday fell on my way to the hospital, resulting in a few hours being checked over at the maternity day assessment unit. Fortunately all is well with the baby and the rest is annoying but fixable.
So now you know the reason for my absence. Lots of interesting convos, as usual. I am rather hoping to go to museums once minime/miniDH is born, we will see whether the baby agrees! Before the birth I was planning to go to the British Library, but apparently wanting to while away a few hours browsing the open colleactions is not a good enough reason to get a reader pass...
Camo: have you thought about SW London? Not as smart as North London, but then again the prices are cheaper and there are quite a lot of the type of house you describe. I don't know how to do private conversations on MN, but let me know if you would like more info...
Hi SG, what a week
! You poor thing, I hope you are not suffering to much from the fall.
Well apparently dh had to wait 2.5 hrs at the police station for his denuncia... che palle!
Have to go and get ds in 10 minutes. It is a grey, dull day here in Milan (which is usually sunny and cheerful... not
)
too
FOund you .. What a pain re the car.
Sui G hope you are resting and all the fixable bits are fixing themselves.
A bit grey ish here Dh muttering about going somewhere domani so mentally I am preparing myself !!!
When I left you there were 81 messages to / posts to go so I now have to go back and read those 81...You guys go toooo fast !!!!!
SG poor you, I symathise. I have a scar on my right knee from when I fell over when pg with DD, and a scar on my left knee from when I fell over when pg with DS.
Obviously not the day for cars on here as I scratched someone's car in the school car park, and it's going to cost 400 euros to fix. Now I have to find out if it's worth claiming on the insurance. Just what we needed.
Following the Shaun the Sheep chat, I had to go and waste ages this morning watching these
Better than housework!
Marking my place.
SuiG...
!!!! poor you
I like Creature Comforts!
400 euros
. Certainly not an expense you want to deal with right before Christmas
(I once had to spend £££ on dental treatment right before christmas, I was gutted!)
oh, no, not a great day for cars!
SG, hope you're having a nice rest with a hot choc!! where are you? We're just out of the SW postcode, though still on London phone number.
went to spend money this morning, as I could get 20% off if used my storecard. got great bargains as I managed to find stuff that was on sale + 20%, great, pity that all the more expensive stuff I liked, they didn't have it in my size, as usual
geeeeeeeee, it's so miserable out there, but the 3 of us (me and DC) are stuffing our faces with the cake I managed to bake his morning (I had to make one for school cake sale)
Camo, I'm impressed by your efficiency
I've been in a lazy, bad mood all day and was really happy that ds comes out early from school on fridays
bookmarking for later.
great day our despite weather. I have decided west london is not that bad after all
.
just got home exhausted.
off to bake cake for DH from bigpippi 'cosi non e' piu' triste'.
later.
Lots of baking- I am inspired to go off and do some myself. Except I won't, because I will be baking on Sunday already, and if I make a cake today too we will just eat too much over the weekend... Instead I will have the joy of filling in a 35-page factfind from our new financial adviser. As my DH says, I do know how to have fun...
SG, our last one was only 32 pages
!
what's up with MrPippi?
Franca, I've impressed myself, I prepared the cakes just after breakfast, still in my pjs, while they were cooking I got dressed, did some work, then went to drop cake off at school, spied on DS as it was break time, went shopping, and I thought that I could be soooo organised and energised if the house was tidy... aaaaaahhh, soon, soon I'll have a big wardrobe...
now, what am I going to cook tonight for the 2 of us??
Sorry- lost the first paragraph, somehow. So here we go again: thank you very much for all your sympathy and kind words. Rest and hot choc are an excellent idea- they have not quite happened yet as I have spent the day rearranging cards, checking credit report and signing up to CIFAS (identity protection service). Oh- and getting cross with the card protection company that, when called immediately after the theft, denied that I had an account with them- which meant a happy half an hour in the police station calling each bank and card issuer, one by one.
Called them today and of course I do have an account with them...
Off to have that hot choc now, together with the 35-page monster factfind...
oh, SG, if you make a cake, it'll be finished by sunday, so go on, you're eating for 2 after all

Camo: we are near Clapham Common... Is this too precise for MN? Surely not? The area is huge...
what's a fact finder SG?
Oh and btw I hope you are feeling okay after the fall and I am sending bad maledizioni to the wallet thieves
.
Have not baked cake. Mr Pippi was overwhelemd with work so a bit stressed out and bigpippi picked up on that and said that if she makes him "a cake with I love you daddy he will smile".
oh, helloooooooo!
London in wonderful! Spent all day in central London, fab, fab!
SG, there is always an exhibition in the British Library, current one is on photographs from the 19th century, excellent and free. Lots of cafes around there, some very local and cheap. Infact there is a cafe in the BL, but I don't know what it's like. And a nice little bookshop too.
Kids still around tonight, normally they are in bed by now, so better get cracking.
Yes it is, London is fantastically the best! We went from the Science Museum to Hyde Park and Trafalgar Sq and Covent Garden. Kids very happy and us too. So much to see everywhere one would need a million lives, that's the only trouble.
I love going around london when I'm not working though (hate slow tourists that won't stand on the right
). keep meaning to take dc around, been promising ds to take him to the transport museum and he wants to go back to see the dinosaurs at the NH museum (can't believe he still remembers going there with DP, DB and DN when he was 2! he still remembers the fake poo
).
SG, we're just east of wimbledon, south of mitcham, no more in the london postcode, though still london phone! DP used to live in clapham south when I met him, I have very fond memories of clapham common. but we definetly can't afford the area... I wouldn't mind staying around here (just wished they'd revamped the high street though), we're close to everything, but still have a bit of village feel, but even here is too pricey (or maybe I'm just too demanding...)
Oh SG! What a lot of bad luck.
And Sputnik - 400Eu! Crikey.
Am
and [impressed] at all the cake-baking and museum visiting. Humph.
Camo, I took minipippi to London Transport a couple of days ago. She loved it.
