Recipe of the week

penguinmum's creamy fish pie: smoky, seasonal fish in a creamy white sauce with grated, rather than mashed, tatties on top - a meal of the highest comfort-food order.

So BABY - anyone ever bought anythig from them?

(142 Posts)
I have recently, but the item still hasn't arrived, they aren't answering emails or voicemail messages, and I'm starting to think that they might have gone under.
Anyone ever bought anything from them??

We eventually got a refund shortly after posting here and emailing sobaby advising trading standards and their credit card agency were involved (which they were) and were about to contact our credit card.

So keep trying and hopefully they will sort out selling stuff properly or no longer try to...

I would like to add to the bad experiences of the SoBaby Website.
I ordered 3 items in July, the money was taken from my account immediately, but I did not receive the first item until a month later and the second item 2 months later. The third item and most expensive item has never arrived.
I, like many others have tried to contact SoBaby by email, phone and letter - all without response. I have now reported them to my credit card company and also to Trading Standards.
SoBaby has appalling customer service and should not be allowed to trade on the internet. I would not recommend them.

I finally managed to get through on the phone and despite awful customer service since I placed my order at the end of April and subsequently cancelled it (no reply to emails, phone often on answerphone) I actually managed to speak to someone this time and they were very helpful, located my order and processed my refund whilst I was on the phone. So keep trying and you should get it resolved (though I wouldn't buy from them again!)

willwitheysmum sincere apologies but I tend to agree with onebatmother; after reading your posting I was somewhat surprised to see an identical posting on review centre; you obviously felt so compelled by your 'good' experience of sobaby that you had the time to search out all the bad news and post your views - you are entitled to your views however, don't assume we are all naive enough to believe it.

Just want to stress again, at the request of organic baby food company so-baby.co.uk, that they have no connection with SoBaby.
You're quite right willwith.
Welcome to MN.

erm, onebatmother, yes its my first post but i am a new mum and not really had time to do this stuff before. think you are being slightly judgemental making that assumption. I may be in the minority but that does not make my opinion any less relevant does it?

I am sorry if you or anyone has had any issues with sobaby but my experience was good and surely thats what this whole thread is about?
erm, willwitheysmum, this is your first and only post, I see?

Since you're in such a microscopic minority, people might assume that you are linked to the business in question.

I have had a very different experience than most people on here. I found the sobaby website and fell in love with some of the products on it. I ordered a few items on my first order ( a skip hop bag, swaddling blanket) and both of my items turned up within a week of ordering them.

Later on in my pregnancy I then found sobaby to be the best priced for the cotbed i wanted to order so i ordered that from them too. They called me within a week of the order and let me know that it was going to be delayed by a week or two as the supplier was out of stock which i did not mind.

I called them about a week later after reading some bad reviews and spoke to a lady who was very re-assuring and who gave me a delivery date of approx 10 days. She called me back about 3 days later to let me know it was back in stock earlier than expected and could be delivered next day!

With both orders i recieved my goods exactly as ordered and recieved emails both times with the courier tracking number. I would certainly have no issue using them again and intend to as they have some of the best prices out there, and a really good range of products.

We ordered a moses basket and miracle blanket back in July, the moses basket arrived but the blanket was "to follow".

Nothing arrived and their phone rings out ot is engaged and emails to the sales address seemed to go un-noticed.

Eventually sent an email threatening Trading Standard or contacting the credit card if not response by the end of the day. This too was ignored.

So did contact trading standards and then Consumer Direct and Paypoint.net for starters. Paypoint.net just said "If the merchant will not respond to your queries, you are advised to contact your card issuer." which wasn't a lot of help, though the credit card would have looked into a refund. Trading standards / Consumer direct are still onto it.

I advised SoBaby by email that they had now been reported to Trading standards and the credit card and amazingly... got an email back then saying the amount had been refunded, plus the refund email from Paypoint.net.

So keep trying, do contact consumer direct (http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/ ) or the local trading standards (http://www.hants.gov.uk/regulatory/tradingstandards/ ) or Paypoint.net (http://www.paypoint.net/support/cardholder-support/support-request/ ) and your credit card having informed angela@sobaby.co.uk and sales@sobaby.co.uk and maybe you will get what you have paid for or a refund.

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links and smileys: To insert a smiley face, , type [smile] or :)
For a big grin, , type [grin] or :o
For a wink, , type [wink]

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
