Does anyone have any idea why my washer-dryer lets in water on the tumble dry setting. It washes ok, spins ok, but then when it switches to tumble dry I end up with 2 inches of water in the bottom.

bTW it's only 2 years old.

Ailsa - don't know the exact reason but washer/dryers work by heating up the clothes and extracting the steam produced - condensing the water rather than by hot air. So I guess there may be problem with that. It's not an Indesit by any chance? I gave up calling them out to fix my dryer and now just see it as a not very big washing machine. Would love to have the space for a proper tumble dryer.

No it's not an Indesit, it's a Hoover. After posting last night I found a new website which had some useful info. The man who set the site up specialises in Hoover & Hotpoint. He has a forum where you can ask questions, he will help with other brands as well.
