Just back after a week away, can't believe no-one is talking about this. Surely it's the best thing to have been on TV for a long time?
So many things to discuss;
Darren Day - did you know he had been in rehab (I didn't). Isn't he just a bit precious?
Rhona Cameron - how annoying?
Uri Geller - what a dirty old man
Tara PT - actually, I quite like her.
Nigel Benn - another prat
Tony Blackburn - doesn't he look old? And when will he find a bucket gag?
And so on and so forth.....
Please, someone put me out of my misery, and let me know that dh and I are not the only ones watching this.

ooh yes, emsiewill, confession time! agree with your assessments - and much to my surprise christine hamilton is actually quite bearable and a pretty good sport - at least in terms of the program.

Caught most of it for the first time last night - what exactly had Rhona done to annoy Darren and Nigel?
I quite liked TPT, but she should put a sock in it once in a while, her voice was getting on my nerves!
Yes, quite surprised by Christine Hamilton too, and even found myself liking Tony Blackburn!
Agree with you about Uri, Emsiewill - yuk.

Basically, jodee, Rhona is a very strong character with a very large chip on her shoulder. She doesn't seem prepared to compromise and keep her views to herself for the sake of a bit of peace. Nigel is a born-again Christian, so has issues with the fact she is a lesbian. Plus, he doesn't seem to think that anyone else should be allowed to have an opinion, and will not listen to anyone. Darren doesn't like the fact she compared him to Frank Spencer (well stop the impressions of him, then), and basically they're all going mad and driving each other insane.
Oh dear, maybe I should enquire about where I can get myself a life

I'm on Rhona's side. Christine Hamilton is a 2-faced s**t stirrer, Darren and Nigel are the most immature, self-centred and ultimately boring "men" I've seen for a long time, Uri and Tony are both pretty bonkers but are more or less the grown-ups in the camp, Nell is...who? I keep forgetting she's there and as for Tararaboomdiay, I'm not surprised at what she's like as I met her father's brother (um, ok, uncle) decades ago and I think the P-T's are all pretty much the same.

oh goody, other people as scurvy as me.

I like Tara, Christine and Nell (what's not to like???) but think all the men are idiots and can't stand Rhona the Moana.

When does the first person go??

It's absolutly required viewing in our house. We have Uri Gellar's number on speed dial. What an absolute prat. I just love Rona, she pissed off the boys so much because they can't charm her. You can see that that is why darren Day can't stand her. Obviously every other woman he has ever met he has been able to charm and flirt into submission but it just dosen't work with her. What 14 year old behaviour. "I'm not talking to you because you compared me to Frank Spencer". Or even worse, he wasn't talking to his new love Tara because she talked to Rhona. Oh go and grow up!

Nigel Benn is just a big bully. He obviously has a problem with Rhona's lesbianism, which she won't let him forget, and Christine Hamilton's jolly hockey sticks attitude relly gets my back up. And as for Nell, she's obviously just there to get her tits out for the boys which she hasn't done (much to dh's disappointment), she dosen't speak, so lets get rid of her.

P.S. Has anyone else noted what a strange body shape Tiara Palmer-Parasite has?

Ooooh, yes, nearly wet myself laughing as TPT was practically pole dancing around that 12-year-old prat DD while saying 'Uh, yah, your girlfriend sounds great', and then rubbing her groin in his face. And her six-pack sticks out further than her tits (to be vulgar). Darren Day is the worst person in the world - a complete baby and so pathetically proud of being a love rat. I've met Christine Hamilton a couple of times and she's really nice (horror!). Polite to everyone and a good sport. I was so pleased when DD had to do the task again. I hope he has to do it every night for the whole of the rest of the show... but then I also want to see him voted out too... dilemmas, dilemmas...

Absolutely loving this programme. I suspect that Rhona has sexual feelings for Tara and she is bullying Nigel, and especially Darren as a result of the close friendship they share. I bet Rhona loved her pedicure and relished the thought that it would cause a rift between Tara and Darren. Since when has Darren Day had a cockney oops sorry mockney accent, and in conversation with Nigel he mentioned "yeah i'm totally with you man, because we're both from the streets" OH PLEASE!!!! streets my arse, streets of Berkshire more likely.

Poor TPT - she's very highly sexed, don't you know. And Darren has to learn to love himself before he can love anyone else (apart from her, presumably).
Agree that Christine Hamilton, despite being very "jolly hockey sticks" seems a nice person - she came across well in the Louis Theroux prog, too, I thought.
Nell just seems to be someone who has nothing to say (well, nothing worth putting into the prog, anyway).
I agree that Rhona is probably a very intelligent person, who has a lot to say that is interesting, but she doesn't seem to realise that sometimes you just have to be smug and patronising in your head, rather than to people's faces. Especially in the situation they're in. Although I did think she came out well last night, by agreeing to try and "let it lie". Darren and Nigel are definately big children.
I also love Ant & Dec - they're just soooo funny. And they also hosted another fave of mine, Pop Idol, so they can't do a thing wrong in my eyes!
Why oh why is it only on for 2 weeks?

ks, Darren Day started off in TV - hosted "You Bet" (what?.....), but is better known for being in West End shows - Summer Holiday, Joseph, Grease.... Also well known for being a "love rat", was engaged to Tracy Shaw (Maxine from Corrie), Isla Fisher (I think that's her name - she was in Home & Away, and more recently Scooby Doo), amongst many others (Anna Friel as well, if my memory serves me right). Anyway, he basically treated most of them like s**t (according to the tabloids). It's probably because he hadn't learnt to love himself.
Nell is a page 3 type model - did you not hear her discussing her "spread" (ahem) in Playboy with Uri - I thought he was actually going to ask her to recreate it for him there and then. Dirty old spoon bending perv. Oh, sorry, I mean dirty old paranormalist (?) perv.

Oh yes, glitterbabe, and then he said that was why they get on so well with Tara, after the things she's been through, she's the same as if she had come from the streets (eh?)
What was the first TV programme he was in, can anyone remember? It's really bugging me.

Hurrah! Me & dp aren't the only ones watching this every night. Our favourite is Tony Blackburn (ah bless). Though I wish he'd stuck to his guns and insisted Uri was a hypocrite for saying he was a vegetarian and then eating all those live wiggly things. I think Rhona's great - a bit too in your face but far more perceptive than the others. She did a spot-on analysis of the group dynamic.

Emsiewill, I've just checked Darren Days official website page, I know I'm sad, but I'm waiting for my Sunday roast to stop cooking. His first job was presenting a cbbc show called clockwise. He also used to impersonate Cliff Richard and he was in the stage version of summer holiday he tried to pass himself of for a few years as a Cliff Richard lookasoundalike. I can see where the reference to the Frank Spencer impersonations come from now, not much to differentiate between Cliff and Frank is there.

I'm not sure if you're complimenting me, or not, ks. Still, I've always known I'm sad (I have an excrutiating tale about me - aged 22 - and Phillip Schofield which involved me bursting into tears, patting his arm and saying "you're ace" ), so why stop now?
Must have a look at the Darren Day website - I think it was that clockwise programme I was thinking of, thanks glitterbabe.
