HELP! Need to find fab manicurist in SW London before it's too late!

Help! Have big black tie do to go to on Saturday 29th June - really not my scene at all, but have cobbled together an outfit of sorts that I hope won't let me down (particularly the support knickers!). However, have just looked down at my hands and I look as though Alan Titchmarsh has been grafted on at the elbow. Does anyone know of a fab manicurist in the SW14/Richmond, London area? Even better a mobile one? I haven't a clue about these things. Ideally someone who can whack on fake tips (that's tips with a p!) Help asap!!!

Can't recommend them personally, but there's Profile Studio in White Hart Lane (0208 876 5012)
and Beauty 2 U on Church Road, Barnes (0208 748 3300). Would be interested to know if it's worth having a manicure, and how long they last, as I've also got neglected hands.

Willow2 There's a place on the Kew Road in Richmond called The Nail Garden. I've had bikini wax done but no nails stuff, but my friend had nail extensions done there and was happy with them. Tel no. 8332 2544, just by the roundabout near Molly Malones pub.

Willow2 - how was the do and how were your nails? You'll be able to show us on 27 July!

Fionn, am still recovering.... it was a surprise party for my father's 70th - held at Spencer House in SW1. My stepmother organised it and it was a really good evening. Non stop fizz, delicious dinner, fireworks ... the sort of do I have only ever read about to be honest! Ended up being dragged off with hubby, brother and friends to Annabel's by my stepbrother. Thankfully we didn't have to pay the bar bill as I think I would have had to have remortgaged. Have never been to Annabel's before - not really my kind of place - but much merriment was had - then went back to stepbrothers flat and ended up getting in at 6am. Which for dh and I was quite a novelty (as you can imagine with a two year old). Had three hours sleep and then had to spend the afternoon photographing kids for something I'm working on. Asleep by 9 but still feel as though could do with another 24 hours worth. Am definitely getting older... As for nails, got them done at the Bodytoning clinic in Sheen - they looked fab and it only cost £10 for 4 tips (£25 for full set). Not sure if they'll last till the 27th though.

On another tip (no pun intended) went to that new "gastro type pub thing" - the Tapestry near the Mortlake brewery - the other night. Very nice and not too expensive (dh and I both had three courses and two bottles of nice wine and it was £60). Not trying to force your hand re 27th, just thought you might like a report.

Willow2 Party sounded great, worth having 3 hours sleep for! Still no decisions on venue for 27th, so all ideas welcome. Is the gastropub near Mortlake Staion? Am just about to read up on the Putney places in my TO Eating & Drinking Guide and will post again under the original thread very soon.

Fionn, it's a few minutes walk from the station.

Willow2 - V. interested about Tapestry as I go past it every day & couldn't decide whether to give it a go or not. Sounds like good value, although it's not very scenic!

TO Guide recommends Ma Goa and an Italian - is it Enoteca? Sorry, left guide in other room. And La Mancha, though that has a guitarist so might be a bit noisy if we want to chat. Ma Goa apparently has a separate room for parties. Do we want that or are there too few of us? I think it was 13 at last count. I'm fine with Mortlake too, depends on the people coming from Wimbledon etc where a tube station would presumably be easier.

Willow2 - I spend a lot of time sitting in traffic on the Lower Richmond Road as it's on my home-nursery-station route.
