School journey Golders Green to mill hill county high school

We are considering putting mill hill county high school down as top choice on our form but the journey from where we live in Golders Green looks a nightmare - 2 buses and a 20 min walk or 3 buses. Does anyone's child do this journey or does anyone know a better way? Any advice will be gratefully received!

Are you applying for a technology/dance/music place?

If not, then you need to be aware the furthest distance the school has gone out to in general admissions in the past six years is 1.2 miles - entirely walkable, which suggests to me you are significantly outside that and therefore unlikely to get a place I'm afraid.

How funny - I used to do this exact journey about 15 years ago, when I went to Mill Hill County for sixth form! The quickest route was to get the tube to either Hendon Central or Edgware and then one bus (can't remember the numbers but there were a few options).

Yes, we are applying for a music place.
Thanks for the info. A tube to Edgware would work as its on the same branch but it seems a long way round? Hendon Central wouldn't work as it's on the other NL branch.

Hendon Central is 2 stops up from Golders Green on the Edgware NL branch!

Edgware tube and 614 bus. Not ideal but doable. I know whereof I speak - read my username! - although my DS did not go there.

Yes Hendon Central is just two stops away from Golders Green (on the Edgware branch), and is the route I used to take most often. Some combination of tube and bus would definitely be quicker than just buses.
